Squealing BEFORE turning ignition.

Chevrolet Blazer 1987 K5 350 EFI 75000 miles
I have a 1987 K5 Blazer that is making a cycling squealing sound when you click the key to the "ON" position before engaging the starter. Not a belt issue. Truck is not even started, and will not start. Starter turns and tries to crank, but will not. Squealing sounds like it near passenger side firewall, but cannot pinpoint

The problem with your 1987 Chevrolet Blazer is likely related to the starter solenoid. The solenoid is responsible for engaging the starter when you turn the key, so if it's not functioning properly, the starter won't engage and the engine won't start. The squealing noise you hear before turning the ignition is likely a sign that the solenoid is not engaging as it should.
There are a few possible reasons why the solenoid may not be functioning properly:

Worn contacts: The contacts in the solenoid may be worn, which can cause them to stick or not make a proper connection. This can result in the solenoid not engaging properly and the starter not functioning.
Loose connections: The connections to the solenoid may be loose, which can prevent the solenoid from functioning properly. Check all connections to the solenoid to ensure they are tight and clean.
Bad solenoid: The solenoid itself may be faulty, in which case it would need to be replaced.
