The same happened to my f100 79 and the problem was the little tank that goes inside the carburetor, which was punctured. Another friend of mine had the same problem and, in his case, it was that the ignition contact in the switch panel was damaged. Hope it helps.

Starting failure

Ford F-100 2008  168000 miles
I own a Ford F100 duty xlt 2008 and it presented no problems until, one day, it started failing when starting; the engine turned, but the van would not start working. I took it to the official agency, where I had bought it, and left it there for a week. It was supposedly repaired but, the following day, it did not start any more. Without any doubt, I took it immediately to the agency again, and they accepted to check it once more. Another week went by until they called to say the van was ready. I went to pick it up and, to my suprise, I heard an annoying creak coming from my vehicle. Even more… Read complete

I have your same van 2007 and, when it failed when starting, the problem was the fuel pressure, the safety valve more precisely. For you to understand what happens: there is a hose that goes from the fuel tank to the engine and, occasionally, some air remains inside, like a bubble of air. This causes the starting to take longer than usual, or that the engine starts but stalls after 5 seconds. With the fuel tank completely filled, the problem is solved but it is quite expensive. You need to take it to a mechanic and explain that this is happening to you, and do not believe them if they tell you that the injectors are the ones that are failing.

Maybe use a one way fuel valve so fuel says in the line, and full tank isnt expensive gas and the problem is not fixed, if your van has an auxiliary tank it may be the fuse in crossover line, if not id try a one way check valve hard to determine when the only descriptions are creak noises and would not start working

Current failures

Ford F-100 1992  50000 miles
There is no current reaching the distributor. I've already changed the module, rotor, spark plugs, wires, distributor cap and the coil. The only way to make it start is by connecting a wire directly to the coil. Occasionally, it also happens that, when driving at high speeds, the current is suddenly cut, causing the vehicle to stall. I've even replaced the contactor in the steering column and the ignition switch contact drum. I would appreciate your help.

I recommend you to check the captor and also whether there is current in the positive that leads to the coil, at the moment of placing the key in the ignition.

Safety valve failure

Ford F-100 2010
Most of the f100 vans have a problem in the safety valve in the engines cummins common rail. The problem appears when this valve remains stuck, not allowing the engine to start. I found this out by myself because no one was able to solve my problem in the agency. I am now waiting for the replacement. Hope it helps.

Acceleration failure

Ford F-100 2007  200000 miles
Hi, I bought an F-100 2007 and its problem is that, both when accelerating and decelerating, it takes long to respond. I do not know if this is normal or not, because I compare it with the previous one I had, which did not have electronic injection. Do I need to change my way of driving? I would appreciate any comments about it. Thanks.
