Speakers sound blown

Ford F-150 2013  74000 miles
The speakers with my sync stereo system sound terrible. They sound fuzzy and vibrating like they are blown but I know they're not because it does it at different times for different speakers throughout the truck. It also doesn't matter if it's radio CD Bluetooth it all sounds like crap.

I have the same problem. It seems to be heat related. Early mornings works fine after work sounds like speakers are blown until truck cools down.
Toopentup from United States 4 years ago
I haven't noticed a hot or cold relation to it, but I will definitely check those patterns. I have done a little more digging and looking into it though and apparently Ford used $8 speakers for about a 3-year. That includes my 2013. There apparently have been loads of complaints. The only solution is to buy better ones that I have found so far.

Same issue with my newly purchased f150 king ranch.

Radio sound system

Ford F-150 2003 5.4 Heritage Edition Supercab 231000 miles
Radio works, but cannot see station or time, sometimes radio changes station by itself. CD player will not accept cd, when it does accept cd it reads Error. Also overhead console does not work any more, no time, temperature or direction can be seen. I've already checked fuses.

Radio quit working

Ford F-150 2008  102000 miles
My stereo in my F150 worked fine on Friday. On Monday...nothing. I checked 3 fuzes under the dash as indicated by the owners manual as having something (anything) to do with the audio system. All fuzes were tested and are ok. Still no radio. Any ideas??

dus6178 from United States 6 years ago
2013 F150 with 35000 miles radio came on and went off periodically for a couple of months, Finally quit. Ford dealer said he ran diag on the system found the radio shot. Price of 871 to replace... Charged 119. Just to check it out. SYNC also doesn't work. I don't know if it is tied to the stereo in a way that both would quit or not...

Had exact same problem, checked fuses, fuses fine. Ford dealer says radio is dead, $575 to replace
dus6178 from United States 6 years ago
I decided to take the radio out since it was "shot". When I got it out (youtube) I tried to find something obvious. No luck. I put it back in and it worked!! Still cuts off now and then but I can get it going again in 7 minutes or so,, not going to replace it.
ITDN from United States 6 years ago
So basically it's still shot, just works intermittently
dus6178 from United States 6 years ago
The radio is 2 piece. The box has a problem. Not the knobs. I found one on ebay for $150. It has to have the same numbers. Still cheaper than $575...
I'm going to get the guys at the local tech school to look at it. Sometimes it will run for a week,, Sometimes less...

Anybody know why radio buttons and volume won’t work by the radio it self but works fine if I do it by the controls on the steering wheel
dus6178 from United States 2 years ago
@Bossman94Has it been wet? How old ? Have you tried spraying contact cleaner? I bought a replacement radio at https://1factoryradio.com/. They might be able to help troubleshoot it.

One day the volume wouldn't work then it started working the next day. The day after that the power button won't shut the radio off. It's been 2 months like that and still don't work. I have to turn it all the way down to turn it "off" now.

Did anyone find out why radio went out and how to fix it
Fergie from United States 3 years ago
I have same issue. All audio went out including voice active two or three times and the next time I would start my truck the radio and all other voice active commands would work fine until early last week heard a pop and no audio all controls are out. Time clock flashing and outside temp are displayed but nothing else and has not came back on. Has anyone has an aftermarket stereo installed. Since Ford can’t figure out what the issue is on there stereos

Same problem! Radio and cell phone sync not working on 2018 F150. What the heck! I have not checked anything, but will check fuses
Coal Minning Man from United States 2 years ago
Go to Ford.com create an account with your VIN #. Your truck searches for updates periodically but sometimes they may not come back with any results needed. Almost EVERY F150 with SYNC has these issues with the stereo. It needs to be updated. I have saw a lot of issues about this. Bc most commonly, if it goes to black screen and you have no control but works later than this is your solution.

Controls on Dash Console not working - A/C, Heater, Radio, etc.

Ford F-150 2012 XLT 75000 miles
Controls on Dash (center) console not working; A/C, Heater, Radio, defrosters, etc. 1) When radio volume/pwr knob pushed the clock shows briefly in the led window above the console. 2) Hazard button works and turns hazards on. 3) CD Player controls work. 4) Cigarette lighter works. 5) USB port provides power to MP3 player. 6) Entry bell has a different sound and speed. 7) Keyless entry (remote) no longer works.
Removed negative cable from battery over night to try and "reset" systems. No change.

I'm bout to rip into my dash. It has gone on for to long. I'm guessing that it has to do with the blend door one part at a time. Once I know what cuase this I will share

We had the same problem... truck map and radio and a/c we dead going down the road and ultimately the truck engine check light came on and went dead. Turned out to be a loose harness on the driver side under the hood near the firewall. Lasted 2 years but on hauling a trailer, Problem has reoccurred now and not sure the cause. F150 king ranch 2012

With LED tail lights equipped... a cracked tail light,, and water getting into connections can cause network communication failure , reflecting the problem in a number of systems , no communication. Believe it or not...
TikiTim321 from United States 2 years ago
I have the same issue that started after the truck wouldn't starte because of what seemed to be a dead battery.
Can a bad battery cause these problems?
JaRe from Canada a year ago
This just started happening to me about 1 month ago. It is intermittent, so one day all works well the next I have nothing. Controls on Dash (center) console not working; A/C, Heater, Radio, defrosters, etc. 1) When radio volume/pwr knob pushed the clock shows briefly in the led window above the console. 2) Hazard button works and turns hazards on. 3) CD Player controls work. 4) 12v outlet works. 5) USB port provides power. 6. ) Keyless entry (remote) no longer works when the center console controls aren't working but works on the days the controls are working. Anyone have any updates on a repair that will fix this??
JaRe from Canada a year ago
I took my truck into Ford Dealership. Of course, everything was working fine that day. Told me they couldn't duplicate the problem in the shop or on a test drive. They decided to perform a self-test on all the modules and found multiple modules lost communication with the BCM (Body Control Module). Ran a self-test and network test on the BCM and it passed. Performed an inspection of the BCM itself and found C2280B on the bottom of the BCM to not be fully seated and locked. While wiggling this connector they were able to duplicate the no radio, heat, defrost or center console controls. Reinstalled the connector and made sure it was fully seated and locked. 3 days later and I haven't had any issues since. Cost me $190 labour but I wouldn't have been able to figure this out myself.

Aftermarket stereo install 2016 Ford F-150

Ford F-150 2016 Xl/rwd// 85633 miles
I had someone attempt to install a 10.1 Android compatible radio
They ran a complete set of new wiring for the new speakers that were installed (,JBL-GTO 609C) along with wiring up an JBL ax4550 amp and a kicker subwoofer. After he did this I lost my instrument panel and power to my turn signal and hi beams. After checking for my self I noticed he cut the wiring harness to the stereo and also to the one of the control modules that connects the USB and rearview camera. So now anlI need the wiring diagram for the TCI module and if anybody knows what wires on stereo harness are the vss, backup camera and reverse trigger are thank you

Radio /windshields wipers

Ford F-150 1999 F150  237000 miles
Speakers are buzzing and popping even if the vehicle is off no keys in the ignition. And the windshield wipers just started going to the Mist cycle without the InTouch twice yesterday. I know it's a short of some kind but I need like an easier way without chasing wires. Thanks
