Stalls when driving SolvedSolved

Ford Fiesta 2002  71000 miles
Hi, I own a Ford Fiesta and sometimes, when braking at a stop or yield sign, it suddenly stalls. The camshaft sensor was changed, but it keeps stalling. Everything started when the distribution belt was replaced because the car vibrated noticeably when at dead centre. The vibrations disappeared but it now stalls whenever it wants. I wanted to point out that there is no problem to start the engine back again when it stalls. What can be failing? Hope someone can give me a hand.

Finally my car's failure has been found. I took it to a different mechanic who noticed that, at 3000 rpm the vehicle always stalled, but this did not happen at 2000 rpm. He then made another test that consisted in removing the fuel deposit plug and driving without it, simply with the cap closed. And it did not stall. Apparently, it was a valve in charge of expulsing gases that was obstructed, so it was cleaned and the problem disappeared. I was told that there are some other cases in which it can happen that the spare fuel pipeline was obstructed or even the front valve that goes to the deposit. My case was the cheapest one, thanks God!

Engine chokes, constant failure

Ford Fiesta 2005  262000 miles
Good morning all. My car is a Fiesta power 2005 and, for 6 months now, it has been presenting a huge failure, that started by appearing occasionally but is now quite frequent. It seems to be a spark plugs' failure but it is not. When starting the engine there is no problem, but after a while, the car starts failing, it loses power, chokes and I need to accelerate it so that it sets out and be careful because it suddenly speeds up. The engine trembles terribly and, if the air conditioning is turned on, it is even worse because it is ever more powerless and almost stalls, even though this has ne… Read complete

Good morning, the same thing happened to my Fiesta power 2005. It had all the symptoms you mentioned and even the engine trembled as well when the radio was turned on. After changing all the car parts like you did, I checked the computer and it was damged. I first tried repairing it, but the failure persisted. So I replaced by a new one and the problem was solved. You should check the wire that goes from the positive terminal to the relays that are on the battery's plastic box, as this was the wire that damaged the computer in my case because it was loose and, due to a constant bad contact, it damaged on its inside. I suggest you to take your computer to be checked, as every time I scanned it, a coil failure was indicated, but it turned out being that the computer did not send the electrical current to two of the injectors and that is why two cylinders stopped working. Hope it helps.

Your fuel filter must be dirty, you need to change it. If this is not the case, then your deposit might be full of impurities, which might have reached the engine.

Not starting

Ford Fiesta 2003 Hatchback  161034 miles
The engine is good it’s a petrol manual fiesta I think it’s the battery but when I try to start it, it try’s to turn over and then when I try again it just makes a ticking noise but if I jump start it, it works no problem but if I turn it off and try start it again it won’t start

Jump the car, after it starts disconnect the battery. If it does not stay running after you remove the cables then you need a new alternator.
If it stays running then you may need a new battery.

Difficulty starting

Ford Fiesta 2015 Eco boost  18000 miles
Booked car in for timing belt then had trouble starting it (suspected battery as not used for a couple of weeks) 2 days later car not ready, now four days later apparently waiting for a new thrust from Ford as this was what caused difficulty starting! Never a phone call to okay this work, does this sound right or dodgy?

Many failures

Ford Fiesta 2003  146000 miles
I would like to share all the Ford Fiesta's inconvenients. To start with, the thermostat box and the thermostat itself damage quite frequently due to the overheating. Due to a wrong design, when driving at 60 mph, an air leakage noise appears coming from the doors. It is not an economic vehicle and its suspension pieces damage very easily, just as the stabilizer links, the therminals and the brake security valve, which starts leaking. The clutch makes an annoying noise and the elevators break down. The shock absorber's rear bases rot and all the gearbox, automatic transmission and brake fluid are really expensive. However, I must admit that all vehicles actually fail at some point and have their pros and cons.
