Stalls in high revolution ranges SolvedSolved

Honda Civic 2000  250000 miles
My car stalls out of the blue, almost every day. The curious thing about it is that since I've bought it, the check engine light has been turned on, and when it fails this light turns off, just as if the computer was reset for some minutes. When the vehicle stalls, I open the switch and check whether all the lights are on, the only case in which the car starts again. Many times it happens that I open the switch and all the lights but the check engine one are turned on, and then the engine won't start. The scanner has been connected but no code is released (only the ABS code and the Catalytic converter one). Hope someone can help me, thanks.

If the check engine light is on it means that there is some sensor which is damaged, but apparently not causing any failure in your vehicle. On the other hand, if it is off it means that the computer is not opening and thus not sending either spark nor fuel. This failure is not provided by the scanner. Now, as the computer recibes a signal from a fuse and has got a relay, you should first check this two things. After doing so, you should take out the computer and try with a different one.

Thanks, sylvester, it is just as you describe it. It seems as though the problem was the computer. It has been scanned, the computer feeding checked and apparently everything is now ok. I really don't know which was the exact solution, but it has not failed again. Thank you so much.

Ground strap to battery has voltage on it. SolvedSolved

Honda Civic 1998 Ex coupe  260000 miles
While driving on the freeway I noticed the engine light was blinking, but only three blinks then a pause of about 20 seconds then 3 more blinks. At that point I had been driving a total of about 7 minutes. Roughly 4 off and 3 or so on the freeway. The car drove fine this whole time/ nothing to make me even think of the light coming on so I kept driving (about 15 more minutes home) knowing that it's not what's is suggested. Anyhow I got home went in to eat and came out to hook up my scanner (Autel AL519) will no luck. I started the car to collect info on scanner of live feed, but the scanner do… Read complete

Energized Ground Strap from United States 5 months ago
After a long week of testing circuits and searching for a grounded wire somewhere I had the electrical hooked back up with just the alternator unhooked. Once I hooked that up it caused the voltage on the ground strap to rise and become stronger. So I replaced the alternator and that fixed the energized ground strap issue. I have an idle issue now along with strange driving conditions so I'm waiting to see if it throws a code for something failing. I've driven almost 200 miles though so I'm not sure if a code is going to be presented.

Lights flicker and transmission fails

Honda Civic 2000  115000 miles
Whenever I start driving my Honda Civic 2000, I can feel a hard knock in the transmission and both the "check engine" and the d4 lights stay on. Even more, at the beginning it has lots of trouble to speed up. As code p0753 appeared, I changed the shift control solenoid but everything remained the same. I then checked the fuses under the dashboard and noticed that there was one blown fuse in position number 15. Once I change it, the lights and transmission return to normal, but after driving for a while the same fuse melts and the problem returns. Can anyone help me? Thank you in advance.

You've got a short circuit. You should track the wiring.

I own a Civic 2002 and the d4 light flickers only when the engine is overheated. What can it be?

You should scan the transmission so that the correct diagnosis is made.

Power loss and engine shutdown.

Honda Civic 2005 Sedan 150000 miles
My Honda civic keeps losing power and switching off, especially when the temperatures are a bit high. Sometimes it does this randomly in the middle of the road. My mechanic told me that it is a radiator problem, replaced it but still nothing changed. My check engine light came on a while after, and my speedo stopped working. After the car stops, it takes about 10 mins or so to pick again. Otherwise it just spins the starter motor. Any advice on what to do here?

Help please from United States 7 months ago
Check your spark plugs mainly the one furthest to the right if it's not on tight it can car your vehicle to stall out also thermostat or wiring, relay, fuse, my 1998 does the same thing. Do you have a milky resude under your oil or radiator cap?
Leslie from other 7 months ago
No milky resude anywhere. It used to be muddy/ rusty at some point in the radiatior... but that was fixed when I bought a new engine. All my plugs are fitted properly, I removed the thermostat (my mech recommended that because we live in a hot region), the ecu is new... it came with the engine, and I also had to buy another gearbox because the new v-tec engine didn't go with the previous one. Someone told me that it might be a transmission problem( specifically pointing out the selector module) and that if I get that fixed it might just solve it. Should I try it?

Civics have a wire connected to the engine that of triggered will interfere with the car and put it in "limp mode " it's very easy to fix bring it in the gaurage and it's as simple as getting the light turned off and the car will be back to its self
