Had the same problem after tires were installed. I found that the tires rotation was opposite of what manufacturer recommends. Removed and re installed the tires according to the rotation symbol on the tire and noise was gone. Especially common on winter tires.

Honda Odyssey EX-L with 192K miles. Developed very excessive road noise in the front end. Changed tires and did not improve. I thought I would have to live with but new mechanic quickly diagnosed as problem with the wheel bearings on the right side. Got those replaced and problem solved. I feel a bit foolish for not figuring this out earlier but none of the warning signs for bad wheel bearings - car pulling to one side, uneven tire wear, vibrating steering wheel, grinding metal sound - were present. So if you have a loud noise problem and even if there are no other issues, suggest get the wheel bearings checked.

Rattle in exhaust maybe engine SolvedSolved

Honda Odyssey 2001  125000 miles
Car has a rattle that sounds like the exhaust is loose somewhere but on closer inspection it feels like also vibration coming from engine. I have removed oil pan suspecting bearing problem but they all appear fine. Thinking bout looking in the timing belt area but it's a nasty bit of work to do. I did notice a lil play in the air con pulley part when I removed belt but other than that any suggestions would be most welcome.

Try to see if one of your heat shield to the exhaust might be loose.
Ljay from New Zealand 7 years ago
Yes it was the shield around catalyst part of exhaust so I removed it and catalyst scion and found that the catalyst had all broken down so I chipped it out and cars been running good ever since. Thanks for your reply

The backing on the front brakes (which was recently installed) was pulling away, which was making the noise.

Engine buzzing

Honda Odyssey 2007  175000 miles
I own an Odyssey 2007 in really fine fettle but, after driving for a while, an engine buzzing appears and increases with time. It seems to be like a plane's engine, even though it does not vibrate. The cause of my problem is not the belt and I am worried it might be the water pump, even though the vehicle does not overheat nor have any leakage. Has anyone experienced something similar?

The car bearings or pulleys turn at great speed and, when they become too dry, they generate the buzzing you can hear. Unless you grease them, they will start failing causing some bandage breakdowns. You can grab a piece of hose and, with the engine on, you place on ending on your ear and the other on each of the pulleys in order to identify the one that is failing. You replace the damaged one and your annoying noise will disappear. Hope this is your problem and not something harder to repair.
SCOTTIE from United States 9 years ago
Middie82, thanks for your advice. I've used the hose as you suggested but could not detect the damaged piece, as the buzzing seems to be coming from a deeper location. I suddenly thought about the power steering pump and, effectively, as I checked its oil level, it was too low. I brought it back to its normal rate and the buzzing disappeared. Hope I can help someone!

Do you have the automatic doors? Mine on the drivers side messes up every once in a while and when it’s not working right when i take it out of park it beeps just a solid beep. There’s a switch to turn the power doors off when you do the beeping will stop.

Hi, I just bought a 2008 Odyssey Absolute last week and had the same problem with the noise. Went to see a guy at Bridgestone and he said that it might be because the rear tyres are not in good shape and the surface of the tyres is not smooth. It can be the problem...I am not sure and I need to wait until changing the new tyres. Have you solved the problem? Thanks

Here are a few possibilities:

Fuse: If the fuse for the power sliding doors has blown, the doors will not operate. Check the fuse panel in your vehicle to see if the fuse has blown.
Power sliding door control module: If the power sliding door control module is not functioning properly, the doors will not operate. You may need to have the module replaced or repaired.
Wiring: If the wiring for the power sliding doors is damaged or frayed, the doors will not operate. Check the wiring for any visible signs of damage.
Motors: If the motors for the power sliding doors are not functioning properly, the doors will not operate. You may need to have the motors replaced.
Switches: If the switches that control the power sliding doors are not functioning properly, the doors will not operate. You may need to have the switches replaced.

Suspension failure

Honda Odyssey 2007
After two years of having my vehicle, its front-wheel drive had to be changed because they were damaged and made an annoying sound when turning the car. Today, only after three years of that and with just 30000 miles, it is having the same failure back again. The agency insists that it is natural that this piece wears out, so I would like to know if this has happened to anyone with an Honda Odyssey.

The front-wheel drive gets damaged because of a steering misalignment and thus, when turning, it overstretches. Consequently, the bearings start failing. Hope it helps you understand.

Accelerating and front end assembly problems

Honda Odyssey 2005  52653 miles
I own an Odyssey 2005 and its problem is that, every time I try to start driving, it loses its strenght for a while, then starting as if nothing happened. I was told the problem was in the throttle body, but this was not the cause. What is more, the front end assembly is making a terrible noise. It's been two times already that I've changed the shock absorbers and everything related to the front end assembly.
