Car won't start after fuel issue.

Kia Sportage 2001 Suv 200000 miles

Car ran out of petrol, put petrol in but car won't start. Any ideas???

I have a 2020 Kia Sportage LX. Everything was great until after a year. The car suddenly wouldn't start in August! Dashboard lights were on but it did not turn over. Just dead. Called the Service, changed the battery & did not last long. Again, maybe once a week in a month, it just wont start. It took me max 10 minutes of trying until it starts again like nothing happened. Kept reporting it to my Dealer for me record. Just this week, it happened again. I checked all of the 4 doors whether I left it opened. Started the car, dead. Waited for few minutes, started again, dead. Stepped on my brake pad (hard), started again, dead. Wiggled my Park gear, this time, it started! I'm now suspecting that maybe it's the gears?! It doesn't engage properly when I shift to Park? I'll continue to observe but honestly, at this time (winter time), I'm really starting to feel so frustrated & disappointed. I do not want an unreliable car! I'm starting to think of trading it to another model. Did you experience this troubles, too? What did you find out? What did you do? Let me know. Thanks.

I have a 2020 Kia Sportage and a couple of months ago I started having starting issues. Sounds exactly what every one else is saying. In the beginning it took 1-2 tries to start it. All dashboard lights come on but the engine won't start. I took it to the kia dealer and of course the car started every time!! This week it seemed the car wouldn't start almost every day. It took several tries before it would start. I thought now the problem is worse the dealer ship will experience it not starting. Wrong! When I got there, I shut the engine off then restarted it and it fired right up. A mechanic came out and he tried 3 times and each time it started right up. Left the car there and today was told they were able to start the car several times and did not experience it not starting 😟 I am leaving the car there in Hope's it happens for them. I can't understand why they don't know what's causing the problem especially after reading all the comments from people who are dealing with this.
This is my 3rd sportage. My first 2 I never had any mechanical problems.

@[email protected]Di you norltice if its when it rains...this same thing is happening to me I have a 2019 but I'm starting to see it happens more on rainy days
