High fuel consumption SolvedSolved

Volkswagen Vento 1997  180000 miles
Buddies, please help me. My vehicle has got an extremely high fuel consumption, around 4 km per liter. It was scanned but no error was indicated. The failure appeared after I replaced the cylinder head gasket. What might have happened? I've already changed spark plugs, wires and even the rotor, but nothing got better.

Hi, joyce, by your diagnosis, it might be a low quality fuel problem. If it is so, use up what you've got and fuel the car with vi power diesel or premium diesel. Another possibility is that there is an electronic problem and you need to make an electric check: flowmeter or EGR valve. Hope it helps.

Try changing the oxygen sensor and your problem should be solved.

Vento 2014 model oil mixed my coolant tank what can we do?

Typically, it would be due to a damage of the head gasket. For Diesel models, it could happen due to a seal failure in the oil cooler.

Display turns on and off

Volkswagen Vento 2006  87000 miles
Hi, I hope you can help me. The display on the middle of the dashboard turns off and on every now and then, as if there was a loose wire or something like that. I have no idea which are the wires that need to be checked.

I wanted to share that I was finally told that the display was damaged and that was the reason why it worked intermittently. I had to buy an old-line dashboard, remove the one I had and install the one I bought. It was necessary to reprogramme the dashboard with the memory and other stuff it brings. The other option I had was taking out the display from the bought dashboard and install it, but it was quite risky the manipulation of the fragile elements. Hope my experience helps someone else in the future.

Run out of battery

Volkswagen Vento 2009  84000 miles
Hi, I have a Vento and it run out of battery in the garage. What can I do? I was told that something might break down when connecting it with wires to another car. If I want to start the engine, can it be pushed? What is the most convenient thing to do in this case? Thanks.

Hello, you can give electricity with another car, nothing will happen. You simply need to be careful and keep the key on the turned off position on both cars when the wires are connected. The RED wire goes in the positive terminals of both cars and the BLACK wire goes in the negative terminals. After connecting them, start the car that has the charged battery, wait until the idle speed stabilizes and then start the other car. Once it started, remove one by one the wires and pay attention that the terminals do not make contact or touch the bodywork. Maintain the vehicle which had the failure turned on for around 20 minutes, until it recovers. Do this with the lights turned off. Hope it helps you.

If there is not enough space for two cars, you need a charged battery. You then connect the wires as mentioned before and activate the key to start the car.
