Air conditioning and temperature indicator SolvedSolved

Chevrolet HHR 2007  80000 miles
I have an HHR 2007 that, when reaching 80 degrees, it will stop measuring the temperature; both the analog and the digital boards indicate "---" and the air conditioning won't start. It can remain this way for two or three days with the car being used and suddenly, one day, when reaching aroun 80 degrees, the temperature will start being measured and the air conditioning cooling once more. The agency has supposedly replaced the temperature sensor but the problem has not been solved. The car does not overheat and the cooling fans are working. The Check Engine does also turn on but, when the computer is installed, no failure is detected.

It is the HHR most common failure. You need to change the thermostat, which is located in the coolant passage between the engine and the radiator. When it reaches 80 degrees, it must open itself to give way to the coolant that the engine requires. Its rubber must be worn and thus the coolant circulates freely, nullifying the temperature sensor.

Effectively it was my thermostat that was damaged, so I changed it and the problem is now solved. Thank you very much for your help.

My car won't start from the switch. The key has already been programmed and fuses and relays have been checked but the failure cannot be found.
