It accelerates by itself
Chevrolet Impala 1968
My car has suddenly started having acceleration problems, it won't stop speeding up when I release the accelerator, so the only alternative I have is to stop the car as fast as I can. I've changed the carburetor but the problem is still there. Does anyone know what I can do?

Check the throttle linkage to the carburetor and make sure it’s not in a bind
