I had this same problem it was the transmission control module this is a grey box found by the firewall under the dash

Motor stalls from time to time

Overheating Solved

Good night, I would like to share my case with you. Some weeks ago, after driving around 25 miles at 75 mph, I stopped when passing by a police check and the air compressor turned off. Two minutes later, it started working again. This failure was repeated 4 times in the same week. The fifth, I noticed an engine temperature increase. When checking, I noticed that there was a small leakage in the plastic connetion that leads to the thermostat. A copper junction was installed and the missing refrigerant was added. Hello, probably your thermal expansion valve is damaged. Any air conditioning technician should be able to solve this problem without charging you too much. Good luck.

Thank you for your comment. I would like to share how I solved it. Even though the car always had refrigerant since leaving the agency, the radiator was too dirty. It was cleaned but it was necessary to replace the superior and inferior tanks because they were considerably obstructed. Even more, the refrigerant reservoir was replaced as it was left useless after moving the hoses so much. Luckily, the car started working properly again. Thank you very much.

Overheats when accelerating Solved

One day, the air compressor suddenly stopped working. When I noticed that the temperature was almost in hot, I stopped, turned off the engine and waited. However, when returning home, the vehicle overheated again. The following day, I changed the thermostat but the failure is still there, it warms up more than it should. The fans are working full time and it is when accelerating on long roads that the vehicle overheats, not when I am stopped. I personally believe it is the pump that is failing but do not know how to check it. Hope you can help me.

Check the water pump, its impeller might be worn. Clean the radiator as well.

You were right, emmie. The mechanic checked it and told me it the water pump was damaged, the impeller was released and almost broke the belt. He replaced it and the problem was solved. Thank you.

Starting Solved

Chevrolet Optra 2006 300 miles

Hi everyone. This is what happened to my car. Two days after repairing the whole engine, the hold light started blinking on the dashboard and the battery got damaged. I changed the stop neutral sensor myself and removed the battery for it to be repaired. When installing it back, a noise of a short circuit was heard, even though there was no smoke coming out from nowhere. Since that moment, speeds have no longer been indicated on the dashboard and the car has not started working again. Even though the engine starts running, it won't finally turn on. I've already changed the crankshaft sensor but with no positive results. Hope you can help me solve the problem, thanks.

None of my interior lights work, they did then suddenly stopped along with the alarm noise.

Seems there is an electrical issue with this model. Mine has some problem of intermittent function (instrument cluster and aircon, and sometimes the right side fog lamps and turning lamps)

Engine doesnt crank over BUT high pitch sound (something turning)

Engine reasantly been overhauled. Drove vehicle for about 2 weeks , no problems. While driving , engine just died and high pitch sound comming from left side (side where alternator and cambelt units are. Try to start vehicle , engine doesnt crank over and something making high pitch sound , something turning...but engine doesnt. Pusg starting also doesnt help...all you hear is the loud high pitch sound...Any suggestions please !!!!!!!

Overheating

Chevrolet Optra 2010 Sedan, 1.6, manual 140000 miles

Hi,
I forgot to close the coolent reservior cap and drove the car almost 50KM. Seddenly i saw the temperature guage on H and stop the car. After 20 minutes i filled up coolent and start driving. After 15KM car get overheat again and radiator hose brust. My mechanic said gaskit has damage and he replaced the gaskit. On the same day when i drove 50 km car overheat and coolent hose brust again.

Then i install spare engine with new thermostate valve and coolent pump but again when i start the engine for half an hour. Temperature goes to the half of the guage. I have no idea what to do more. The last remaining thing is radiator check but as i checked both radiator in and out hose are hot which means coolent is circulating. Any one have same experience or idea what to do??
