The gearbox of the Chevrolet Tracker 2008 is hitting the market with an appalling quality control. In my case, speeds get stuck and they make an annoying noise together with the engine.

The first gear is usually released, even when you feel it is well inserted already. Obviously, as it is released, the car joggles until you do it with enough strength and the gear is accepted.

The third gear jumps, it is hard to introduce the reverse sometimes and the front fender sheet heats up considerably, I don't know if it is because of the air conditioning. I guess I need to replace the whole gearbox.

With no more than 125 miles and only 10 days of usage, the first gear started failing; it is not well introduced or it jumps, making a terrible gear noise. So be careful with the Tracker gearbox, which are said to have many inconvenients.

It's been a month since I bought my Tracker and since then, it has had twp main problems: the first gear jumps and it is hard to start the reverse. Ten days ago I took it to the agency, but no solution has yet been found. I have read that there are many Trackers with this same inconvenient, so be careful if you are going to buy this model.

Starting out doesn't shift smoothly. Seems to windout to long between shifts. Making a hissing noise that sounds like air escaping.

Hello, I have a Tracker and, when one thinks the first gear is already well inserted, when starting the engine, it is released. An annoying noise is also audible when the car is stopped and it seems to be coming from the gearbox; if the air conditioning is turned on, the noise gets even worse. Another problem is that the front brake discs came faulty and it is a manufacturing problem; when driving at 55 mph and braking, the whole steering starts vibrating.
