When the temperature drops I have a complete loss of power when accelerating in my 2014 Chevy Trax. The check engine light comes on then turns off when the weather warms up. They couldn't find anything wrong the first winter this happened. I can have the gas peddle pinned and I cannot accelerate past 70km. It has happened when I have been passing vehicles or going up hills. Very scary. This is the 3rd winter I am dealing with this. Has anyone else experienced this or am I the only lucky one? No issues when the weather is warm.
I have the check engine light on... been to the dealer service center 3 times in last 3 weeks... they replaced some stuff under warranty which was to fix the problem today... drove away from dealership 20km and check engine light back on again... vehicle goes back in tomorrow...
This started when the temperature went below 5 degrees and went away above that... been below 5 now for last 3 weeks...
I've had my 2015 trax in 3 times in a month for oil leaks and turbo problems. Cold weather pvc freezes up and caused a oil line to freeze up going to turbo. 44,000 miles.
Thanks for the info. I live in Canada and was thinking of getting a 2015. I park outside so if it won't start I am in trouble won't be able to get to work. Do you think this is a sistemic problem with all 2015 Trax or just a one off with yours?
2015- 115,000...runs rough at times on the freeway. RPM's at 4-5, when it should be between 2-3. Shop said the cold air was causing it and that there is a kit, where they put a heater, which is suppose to help the engine during the cold days. Would cost 2000. Not sure what to do, as it runs fine most of the time, just once in awhile it runs rough. The engine light did come on for the 1st time when it was happening
