Check turned on

Daewoo Lanos 2001  90000 miles
When I bought my vehicle, the check was turned on, but I was told nothing happened. After three days, it turned off and I did not pay much attention to it. However, after three months, it has now appeared again, and I still do not know what it means. Can anyone please tell me what I should do? Another thing I would like to mention is that, when stopping the engine, it sometimes whistles, indicating that I have not turned off the lights, but others it doesn't. What might be failing? Thank you very much for your help.

A connector might be disconnected.

I have the same problem and, after investigating, I can tell you that what needs to be done apparently is to adjust the camshaft sensor. If you disconnect the battery and connect it again, the electronic control unit will reset and the light will turn off. However, with time, the accumulation of piston misfires will cause the ECU to turn the indicator on once again. In some cases, the sensor error is so big that, once the engine stops working, it is not able to start again. In that case, the battery needs to be disconnected, wait for a couple of seconds and then connect it again. The ECU will then be adjusted and the engine will start again. This failure tends to appear when replacing the timing belt or even the battery. There is no other solution but to take it to the official service and scan the vehicle. Hope I was able to help you.
