Engine noise

Mitsubishi Lancer 2007  122220 miles
Yesterday, after driving for 2 miles, the engine started making a repetitive and really loud noise, which increased as I accelerated the engine. Being stopped, the noise was there just as well. Today, I changed the oil, as that was the solution one previous time this happened to me. I would like to mention, anyway, that the other time, the oil sensor indicator had turned on, showing there was a problem there, but this time such light did not appear. I changed the oil all the same and, right after doing so, the noise disappeared, but it was only for around 2 minutes and it came back. When the engine is cold, the engine does not sound that way, but it is only after a few meters that the annoying noise shows up. This is the problem my car has at the moment.

Check the spark plugs as well as their wiring, it is possible that the head gasket is worn and air oil is leaking to the spark plugs, and that is why you listen to that repetitive loud noise. The same occurred to me, and in my case, the cylinder head gasket was replaced, the spark plugs cleaned and finally the wires kit was changed because two terminals were damaged due to a short circuit. Hope I can help you with my comment.

What is your vehicle's mileage? Have you cleaned the engine from its inside? My recomendation is to make an oil change to the car, as well as installing a new oil filter and your problem should be solved.

Engine without compression

Mitsubishi Lancer 2009  80000 miles
I have a Mitsubishi Lancer and its engine has no compression. Does anyone know anything about it? It was one morning that suddenly the vehicle did not start. No failure has been found and the scanner does not provide any code. Hope someone can give me a hand.

Air conditioning failure

Mitsubishi Lancer 2008  80000 miles
Good morning, friends. I would like to share a problem I had a couple of weeks ago. I turned on the air conditioning of my vehicle and it started working properly but, after a while, I noticed that the air conditioning indicator was blinking, so I understood cooling gas was missing, and it was logical because it was a year since the last time I had charged it. I then took it to a specialized center, gas was charged and the compressor activated, thus blowing freezing air inside the cabin. However, not a long time after I left the center, the indicator started blinking once more and the air cond… Read complete

You have an electrical failure, so you need to check the air conditioning electric system, as well as the air conditioning control because it is not normal that the indicator is blinking.

Slow ascent Auto transmission SolvedSolved

Mitsubishi Lancer 1998 CK-2A, 4G15 200000 miles
Car cannot shift gears by itself or pick up speed on relatively steep ascents.
On too steep hills, I normally stop the car at the bottom then accelerate to maintain first gear for vehicle to complete. If not, the car will move very slowly and one feels the engine strain.
Shifting through D, 3 and 2 doesn't make any difference. Only L, which I try experimentally but usually avoid, makes a change.

I had the accelerator cable adjusted (tightened) and am feeling a tremendous surge in power at the slightest invitation, even on ascents, something I never experienced before.
My case is closed.

Car won't start

Mitsubishi Lancer 2007 Lancer 1150980 miles
Engine won't start. I went to O'Riellys and they tested my battery, starter and alternator. Only thing bad was the battery. I bought a new battery and have the same problem! Motor doesn't even turn over! I can jump it and drive around but when I turn the car off, I can't turn it back on.

It's factory fault. Don't worry, don't change the engine.

Unstable revolutions

Mitsubishi Lancer 2002  115000 miles
My vehicle does not stabilize and the engine trembles noticeably. IAC, TPS, EGR sensors have been checked and candles and coils changed but still the car does not stabilize. Sometimes, it accelerates by itself until reaching 2000 rpm and then, they start going down and up again, without ever being stable.

In my case, the acceleration was raised a bit in one of the screws near the accelerator wire, where injectors are, and it worked.

Air conditioning compensation

Mitsubishi Lancer 2004  112000 miles
Every time I turn the air conditioning on, rpm drop and the car feels a bit tight; I consider the compensator is not activating to maintain rpm. It's been a year and a half since I started having this little problem. I was told it was the IAC, but also that the computer was not sending the signal. I had to raise revolutions a bit so that the engine did not stall nor the vehicle tremble; but I think this way the vehicle consumes more fuel. I really need an electrical diagram to solve the problem. Thank you.

I had a case like yours yesterday and solved it. You need to check both the IAC valve and the computer, as when the first is in a really bad condition, it tends to damage the computer as well. Check the wiring that connects the two of them, which is beneath the glove compartment on the passenger side.
