Oil in the radiator
Nissan Frontier 2012 100 miles
I have a Nissan Frontier 4x4 diesel and, when checking its levels, I noticed that there was some oil in the radiator. I would like to know what might have happened and what I should do. Thanks for your attention.

Check the oil's cooler which is under the oil filter. It is quite usual that it gets damaged on its inside and thus oil passes to the cooling system.

The most probable thing is that the cylinder head gasket has been released, causing filtrations. The best thing you should do is to take it to a good specialised workshop.

Nissan Frontier 2011 145000 miles
Hello everybody. I have a Nissan np 300 and, when checking the radiator water, I noticed it is full of oil. I spotted this because the temperature has risen. I've already checked the cooler, put air against pressure and there is no leakage. Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi, if your Nissan has an oil cooler, this is usually the cause of the problem. You should try changing it; it is easy to do so, as it is located right under the oil filter and all you need to do is remove two water hoses and, in the middle, you will find a screw. That's all!

My Nissan frontier diesel is leaking huge amounts of oil to the radiator and the system in general. I was told it might be the oil cooler, hoses were checked but the leaking problem is still there, and it has some worrying overheatings.

Check the oil cooler, located on the right side of the engine. You will see it aluminium lid.
Buddy, your failure is in the cylinder head gasket.
