Windshield wipers failure

Peugeot 207 2010  32000 miles
I place the windshield wipers in zero and it activates alone, without water, intermittently. Another thing I've notices is that, when raising the two windows at the same time, the windshield wipers start working. Does anyone know anything about it? Please help me.

I've been told that when the windshield wipers start working alone, the battery has no charge. By what you say, when you raise the windows, the battery is consumed and the car interprets that the battery is depleted. Is it hard for your vehicle to start?

Door noises

Peugeot 207 2011  30000 miles
I have a 207 and, at the moment of buying it, I noticed that the rear carpet covers were too big. After a month of usage, the automatic doors locking stopped activating after 6 miles, and I still do not know how to solve it. The driver's door NEVER closes properly, it needs to be pushed strongly. At the beginning, I thought that the door seals needed to soften with time but, after three years, I consider there is something else. One year ago, the two front doors started making annoying noises, as if there was something losose inside and I really do not know what to do. It is driving me crazy.

Regarding the doors locking, try entering the car, placing the key in the ignition and keeping the central locking button pressed for at least 8 seconds. On the central screen, an activation message will appear.

For the doors locking to be activated after 6 miles, what you need to do is to keep the padlock button pressed, the one that is next to the window riser. Hope it helps you.

I recommend you to take the car to the mechanic because the water pump must have burnt. It happened the same to my 206.

Hard steering SolvedSolved

Peugeot 207 2011  45600 miles
Hello, some days ago I bought a 207 and the steering is rather hard. It also happens to me that, when turning the steering wheel, it does not return by itself. Does anyone know what might be happening? No light appears on the dashboard, but it is strange that the steering wheel does not return to its initial position by itself. Thanks for your help.

Hi, the same happened to me. The steering rack bellows broke down and it lost its grease and rusted. I replaced all the steering rack and the problem was solved.

Thank you very much, SAMANTHA. I'm going to check that.

In my case, the steering is really hard and it is because there is a puncture in the steering fluid but it cannot be found. At the moment, I have to keep adding steering fluid until it is fixed.

Rear end assembly SolvedSolved

Peugeot 207 2009  53000 miles
When replacing the bearings, the mechanic recommended to align the rear end assembly. According to him, the tires were inclined inwards on the upper part. Shouldn't they be like this or do they have to be aligned? I was told it was a normal position and that it allows a better stability. In case it has something to do, I replaced the torsion bars. Could you please help me? I would like to know which measurements need to be made as well. Thanks.

The rear wheels have a negative camber angle so that a better grip is achieved and so that it does not turn more than necessary. The torsion bars do not need to be replaced unless one of them is cut. The rear height is regulable, so I recommend you to take your car to a specialist in suspensions.

Speedometer drops to zero

Peugeot 207 2011  30000 miles
My car has now got 25000 miles but, since its 20000 miles, it occasionally happens that, when driving, the speedometer drops to zero and the car loses power. I've tried turning the engine off and starting it again, but the failure persists. When I keep driving, the speedometer suddenly recovers by itself for no apparent reason. There are some months in which the failure does not appear and others in which it takes place twice a week. Does anyone know anything about it? Thank you in advance for your answers.

The same happened to me and it is the speed sensor. You simply replace it and the failure will disappear.

Hi, can anyone please tell me which pressure a Goodyear eagle excellence 185-60-15 needs? In the manual, 35 are indicated, but it is impossible for me to drive with that pressure. The vehicle seems to be disassembling. Thank you.

In case it helps you, I've still got the original tires and in the door it is indicated that the front tires take 33 pounds and the rear ones 33 as well unloaded, and 43 when loaded. For 20000 miles, I had them with that exact pressure and, as it was new, it worked properly with that pressure. But, with time, it became noisier every day, until it was unbearable to drive along a stone paved road. One day, I decided to reduce the pressure to 28 pounds in the 4 wheels and many problems were solved at once. There are some soft noises in the front end assembly which I think, if I had changed the pressure before, they wouldn't be there. Hope my experience helps you friend.
Sophia from United States 9 years ago
Thank you very much, Cole57. I'll take into consideration your suggestion and use that pressure. Thanks for the time and advice.
