Power loss

Seat Leon 2003  112000 miles
I own a Seat Leon 1.6 and its failure is that, when accelerating, it has not enough power. Has this ever happened to anyone before? I would appreciate your help. Thank you very much.

When deactivating the car's alarm, one door lock does not respond and the driver's door cannot be opened. All the others open without a problem.

Engine light indicator

Seat Leon 2004
Three years ago, the engine indicator appeared on the dashboard and, when taking the car to the agency, I was told the turbo had broken down. However, it was so expensive I did not replace it, and actually the turbo was working. The car jerked and pulled and the indicator appeared every now and then, causing a significant power loss. I went to other mechanics who told me the problem was an excess of pressure on the turbo and decided to cancel the EGR. The light continued appearing and, after a year, I returned to the agency. This time, they cleaned the turbos properly and connected the EGR and the problem was solved. I was so disappointed they hadn't done exactly that a year before. I wanted to share my experience in case someone has my same problem.

Check the braking lights. If two of them are blown, that indicator turns on; if none of them works, it is the braking fuse or it commuter.

Thank you very much, Vinny. It was the braking pedal commuter that was failing.

Front right bearing, battery and EGR

Seat Leon 2010  64000 miles
A year ago, the front right bearing needed to be replaced because it was damaged. Three months ago, one day the car could not be opened and it was because the battery had broken down. This morning, I was going to work when, suddenly, the engine failure indicator turned on and the emergency mode is set. I have been told that the EGR valve is damaged but it is quite expensive to replace it. On Monday, I'm taking the vehicle to the agency to see what is wrong with it that so many failures appeared in only one year.

Starting failure

Seat Leon 2009  60000 miles
My vehicle had too much oil and it was burning it through the exhaust, throwing out an excessive amount of black smoke. The mechanic told me the rings needed to be replaced; but he changed them and now the car does not even start. He is now telling me that this happens because the tappets need to discharged, but I really do not know whether to believe him or not. What do you think?

Black smoke means an excess of fuel. It is blue smoke the one that indicates excess of oil.

Vibration

Seat Leon 2005
From the first day I got the car, it has been vibrating at certain revolution ranges. The tires, transmission and flywheel, but the vibration persists. I've been taking it to the mechanic for 8 months but no one has yet found out the failure. They are now telling me the gearbox needs to be replaced, but I do not trust them anymore, so I doubt that is the problem.

Hi, your vibration problem has nothing to do with all the parts that have been replaced in your vehicle. What must have happened is that, at some moment, when changing timing belt, a wrong tool was used to release the screw that holds the crankshaft pulley, and the screw was tightened, causing more pressure on such pulley. As a consequence, the crankshaft axis twisted or was left off-centered, producing the engine vibrations, especially at low revolutions. In these cases, you need to replace the crankshaft or try to straighten it up, which is a bit hard unless you use a lathe to rectify its balance. I hope I was able to help you with my comment.

Heaters indicator flashing

Seat Leon 2003  159000 miles
Hi, I have a Leon m1 1900 110cv and a week ago, the heaters indicator turned on and has not turned off yet. I've already replaced the heaters and the braking switch, but nothing has got better. Since yesterday, when starting the engine and pressing the accelerator, the vehicle stalls. Instead, if I leave it at idle speed for some minutes, it then does not stall and works properly. I really do not know what the failure might be. Can anyone give me a hand? Thank you.

Slipping clutch

Seat Leon 2005
My car has got 45000 miles and the clutch is already slipping. The explanation I was given was that it has to do with a bad habit when driving. Has anyone had this problem? Thanks.

My clutch started failing at 5500 miles and I was told it occurred because of running instead of driving the car. It has not even got a year of usage.

Starting failure when warm

Seat Leon 2005  130000 miles
When starting the engine for the first time in the day, there is no problem with it. But if you stop it after driving for a while, when the engine is already warm, it is really hard for it to start again. No one has been able to find the failure yet. Can anyone help me please?

From my own experience, I recommend you to check the temperature sensor.

It is the heaters that are failing.
