The first failure in my car appeared from one day to the other. It was working perfectly one night, but the following morning it wouldn't start. There was some engine work but I could not start driving it. It seemed as though there was a fuel deficit, but it had been refuelled the day before. I checked the fuel pump, and surprisingly found out there was no sparking, so I logically thought the problem was with the coil. I changed it but it kept doing the same thing. I then checked relays, fuses and that there was electrical current reaching the coil and everything was ok. The crankshaft's sensor was changed. At that moment I decided to install the speed sensor which the car did not have and it was then that another failure appeared: the speedometer went crazy; when driving at 25 mph, it ranges between 50-100 mph. The vehicle was scanned and, even though the sensor indicated the correct speed, the speedometer keeps indicating another thing. The last failure that has appeared is that, after driving for 25 miles, when I stop at a traffic light the car suddenly stalls.
I've changed the distributor and it seems as though the problem has been solved. At least for the past two days it has been working perfectly. Thank you very much!
