Chevrolet Equinox 2007 85000 miles
I bought an Equinox 2007 two months ago and it has already presented many failures. The one that worries me the most is that, when driving on an uphill road and over 40 mph, it is really hard to speed it up. When I try to overtake another vehicle and hit the accelerator hard, a forced engine sound becomes audible, the speed goes down and it suddenly starts with a hard jerk, more like a kick. Another thing that happened to me yesterday was that, after fuelling the car, I turned the engine on and the steering was really hard, to the point of not being able to turn the steering wheel. I turned off the car and on again and, luckily, it started working normally again.

I had this problem and I changed the main flow and it was solved. You should as well check your accelerator.

In my case, I changed the valves body and it was the solution to the problem.

Mine did that. It would slow down and then all of a sudden speed up and audible noise from the engine. It was the timing chain. Have had it replaced 3 times.

Could be simple as a bad throttle position sensor or as complicated as a bad timing chain

I had the SAME EXACT acceleration problem. No check engine light either. $3700 in repairs/parts... even a warranty covered replacement transmission...still had the same problem. after 6 months check engine light came on. Turns out front catalytic converter was well beyond repair . The front catalytic converters in these cars go out well before the check engine light comes on making it hard to diagnose

I have a cheavy equinox 2016 I've check fuses there good cleand throttle new battery just needs a oil change change please help me I need to know what could be the problem could it be a fuse or the throttle it's not getting any gas to the engine please help me

I had that problem intermittently as well for about 2 weeks I ended up replacing the starter relay, & fuse fuel pump relay or fuse whichever it called for then I replaced the battery and alternator then had my computer reset it's been almost 3 weeks and I've now had no issues cranking it up. Now the mylink is another story ps. I've heard that the 2.4 model has a oil consumption problem and a problem with the pistons getting clogged especially if your using the eco mode regularly. My 16 equinox lt 2.4 has about 78000 miles on it I have had so many issues and will probably be trading it in ASAP
Prob have set ur anti theft off and it’s a passive system so it shuts the fuel off to ur engine , it takes a full charged battery and a jump box or another car and about twenty min to reset the anti theft I’ve done it about three times in mine when battery went dead or replaced one
How do you reset it? Like... what is the procedure?;
On your twenty sixteen equinox have Front wind shield Wipers, ever just stop working If so what was the problem? And how did you fix it.
If the fuses are good then it’s the motor in the wipers that has failed
If it’s not starting it’s always an anti theft or starter problem so if u have tripped the anti theft , you have to put ur key in door and unlock it and or get that reset and if that’s not the issue check ur starter relay and all fuses that go to it and that’s a great place to start and if the battery is weak or not enough cranking amps it won’t start either so check your battery as well
Sounds like u tripped ur anti theft and it shuts fuel off to car

Chevrolet Equinox 2006 175000 miles
My 2006 Equinox has a miss in it sometimes. But check engine light does not come on. And no fault codes. A friend told me it may be the throttle Control Module. Does anyone know?

Hey I had this problem awhile ago. Changed all my spark plugs and that didn't help. Then had the bright idea to change the spark plug wires and that did the trick. The AC Delco brand makes rubbish SP wires. Went with duralast and have had no problems 20,000 miles later.
Hi Austin Thanks. But did it show up as a fault code? No light is coming on and no codes. Not sure if I can get that brand of spark plug wires here.

And my questios is. Why many equinox for sale are rebuilt category ,i need to find more info. I have fds who selling one but the title is rebuilt. Low miles but i have some concern about this...

Due to the style of frame, and availability of replacement parts, these are easy to repair/rebuild. I wouldn't put too much thought into buying one just because it was rebuilt. I would only be concerned if it was classified as 'salvage'. (This indicates it was involved in an accident that was bad enough that the car was written off) They generally are great, all-around, and reliable vehicles. Most issues arise from the technology built into them as opposed to mechanical problems. I have a 2007, and other than replacing a battery and a starter, and the regular maintenance stuff...I've never had an issue in over 200kms.
