Chevrolet Optra 2009 134980 miles
A noise similar to the one tappets make has recently appeared on my vehicle. Should I replace them? Can it be the intake manifold that is failing?

I recommend you to first remove the engine crankcase and give maintainance to it and also to the intake manifold. If you use Castrol oil, the chances that it is the tappets that are failing raise considerably.

The tappets are hydraulic, so they do not need any kind of adjustments. When they are damaged, they sound because they do not fill with oil, creating some clearance between them and the crankshaft. When I had this noise, the problem was found in the intake manifold, which can vary the length of its intake tract in order to optimise power and torque. Inside it, there are some gates in charge of canalizing the intake according to the engine revolutions. In my case, one of them was failing, producing the noise similar to the tappets failure. Hope my experience helps you.

I had a problem of my car for timing belt was broken so I replaced that and then I had started my car then some sounds was heard then I open my car engine and inside tappets was broken and it is also replaced then after when I starting self it will done in when engine has in cool but not starting in when engine has in heated and nocking sound also coming what I have to do please give any solution for that
