Electrical/won't start

Chevrolet Silverado 1500 2006 Extended cab 4x4  199256 miles
Sorry in advance for the length of this. This truck has set for a couple of years the mice have found it home. I've not yet found chewed wires anywhere but there has to be some. I put a used battery but a good one in it and tried to start it nothing happened at all. I started looking into the fuses. I found several missing one of my boys must have needed some I guess. I don't know if I have found all that is missing and I'm not sure how to find out if ive got them all replaced. So I finally get some dash lights to come on battery light, brake light, and of course the lock down is also on. The issue now is I have never had a key fob for this truck so I can not do the regular lock & unlock stuff. So I get my Scanner thinking I could find what caused all this. Nope at first the scan tool would not turn on. Now I finally have power too the scan tool but will not connect and now the lights on the dash lights mentioned above stays on as well as the radio. These things stay on with the key in the on or off position, even when the key is not in the ignition. I finally resorted to pulling the top of of the starter relay
by engaging the relay it will turn over but will not start and will not turn over with the key. I have purchased two key fob's that do not require a dealer to program them, the drivers door lock switch will not function there for I can't get them programmed. There is so much going on with it I don't know where or what to start with first. Finding the bare wires would be a start I just haven't found them. And it's hard for me to chase wires because I'm color blind. Any idea's?
