Chevrolet Trax 2015 65000 miles
Since Oct. 2016 I have had my 1015 Chevy Trax in the dealership shop for ongoing computer related issues. Every couple of months the check engine light comes on. The last time was two weeks ago and I get the same response. It's just a disruption, no need to worry. We cleared it. Well last night it not only came on but I lost my power steering, power brakes, and my dashboard went black. So needless to say I am returning yet again to the dealership for another visit.

I have the same issue on a 2016 loss of power, ac was not working I bought this car brand new and I already have all these issues, I took it to the dealer and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. I'm taking it back to the dealer again. I'm sure is a known issue for Chevy but they are not going to acknowledge it.

This happened to my daughter also (2015 Trax). After a gauntlet of dealership dodges on the issue, we found out that is a seal issue to main computer module that caused corrosion was causing the shorts and failures. While clearly a design flaw, we have yet to hear that this will be covered as a warranty item.

We bought our car used 6 months ago and have had issue after issue. The first issue was a purge valve that needed to be replaced due to the check engine light being lit on the dashboard. The second time the check engine light came on it was to replace the turbo charger, then yesterday was the worst part yet. The air pressure light came on, I got the tires checked, went home and everything seemed fine. I went out to do errands and the dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree! The power steering light, brake, traction, airbag lights all came on! Then the A/C stopped working and just blew out hot air, the radio/backup camera didn’t work, blinkers didn’t work, the speedometer, rpm, gas gauge stopped working. I was basically driving a shell on wheels using hand signals out of the window trying to get home safely. This car has had so many problems.

Just in case this happens to your Chevy Trax, the cause for that malfunction was a radio wire that shorted out and our car battery also was drained. The cost was around $250 with insurance to fix it. This malfunction was also not covered by Geico but had to be covered by the warranty.

Hey I have the same issue about 7 months ago my front lights and tail lights was not working and my outlet for my charger didn’t work … come to find out that I had an electrical issue … now I seem to have the same issue again …

Yesterday, I picked up my Chevrolet Trax ls from the agency and, on my way home, I noticed that the engine made a lot of noise when accelerating. But that was not all. When stopping at a stop sign, the van started vibrating, and the vibration was felt from the steering wheel to the rear seats and even the doors. I noticed that, when braking, the vibration got even higher. I really do not know which the failure might be, but I am absolutely disappointed because it is a new car. Today, I am taking it to the agency, but this kind of failures should not appear in vehicles that have been just taken out of the agency.

I have a Trax 2013 and the same happens to me. I think it is the brake discs that need to be rectified. Regarding the engine noise, I totally agree with you; it is definitely annoying after reaching 3500 rpm.
Hi, after taking the vehicle to the agency, I was told the engine mountings were damaged. The engine had to be removed in order to replace them but luckily, the problem could be solved. It's been three months since this repair was made and the vibration failure has not apeared again.

Chevrolet Trax 2013 5 door 89990 miles
What does code 96 mean? No check engine light, but on the message screen, all other info disappeared and a simple “96” appeared. This was 2 months ago and now I can’t find anything on code 96. Initially it said something about the rear differential software…help!
