Hi everyone, I have a 2004 PT Cruiser 2.4 Turbo and after 2 weeks of usage, the Check engine light turned on. It kept working for a while but suddenly stalled. Here are a few things you can try:
Check the latch. The latch is responsible for keeping the rear gate closed. If the latch is not functioning properly, it could cause the rear gate to open and the interior lights to turn on. You can check the latch by inspecting it for any visible damage or wear and by ensuring that it is securely closed.
Check the wiring and connectors. If there is a problem with the wiring or connectors in the latch or lighting system, it could cause the rear gate to open and the interior lights to turn on. Check the wiring and connectors for any loose, damaged, or corroded wires. Make sure all connections are secure and free of any visible damage.
Check the interior light switch. The interior light switch is responsible for turning the interior lights on and off. If the switch is stuck in the on position, it could cause the interior lights to stay on and drain the battery. You can check the switch by turning it off and making sure the lights turn off.
If you are unable to identify the source of the problem or if the issue persists after checking these components, I recommend having a mechanic diagnose and repair the issue to ensure that the problem is properly addressed and the vehicle is safe to drive.
