There is a shaft that comes from the engine and then there is another one that comes out of it and goes to the wheels. Through a set of gears, it moves at different speeds even when the engine moves at just one constant speed, so it takes advantage of the engine's power. They may be manual or automatic.
When turning the engine off in Neutral, the automatic transmission blocked, not letting me change to P. I unlocked it by pressing the button and the brake at the same time. I was then not able to remove the key. Why did this happen?
Hi, I have a Hyundai Santa Fe 2.4 2010, the same thing happened to me and I noticed the stoplight was not working, which meant that the brake switch was damaged. I then changed it and the problem was solved. I hope it helps.
When I took off this morning it wouldn't shift into drive I had to back it up in reverse like three times and then finally it shifted into drive and has worked right ever since.

I remember one Hyundai about 20 years ago Wow doesn’t seem to be that long ago till I say 20 years ago, that had a kill switch under the dashboard on the right side of the steering wheel. If that wasn’t pushed ya weren’t going
Occasionally, my vehicle does not gear properly. I need to release the accelerator a bit in order to gear and it is not a soft change, rather sharp instead. When changing from Reverse to D, it jerks and I have noticed this happens sometimes as well when changing the transmission from D to Sport (semi-automatic).
A full repair was made to my car's automatic transmission but, since then, I've been noticing that, after driving for a while, especially when it is along an inclined road, the second gear is suddenly put and it cannot be changed. In order to make it work properly again, it is needed to stop the vehicle completely and only then continue driving without the problem. I have also taken the turbo to be checked and have been informed that it is a bit distorted so it needs to be either repaired or replaced. How much time do you think my turbo can still work? Is it better to repair or replace it? In case it has something to do, the car has not lost its power. Thank you!
