Air conditioning failure

Mitsubishi Lancer 2008  130000 miles
The air conditioning compressor does not work properly. It turns on and off constantly; it is only when accelerating at 1000 rpm that it works perfectly.

One of the most frequent problems that Mitsubishi Lancers have is that the acceleration valve are no longer calibrated or they are filled with oil or soot. There are two possible solutions: to change the IAC valve or to clean it properly with carbuclean and checking if it is enough.

Change the idle speed sensor yourself or take it to a specialist to do so. Disconnect the battery before plugging it so that the computer recognizes it.

Acceleration failure when turning the A/C off

Mitsubishi Lancer 2005  350 miles
Good morning, I have a little problem with my Mitsubishi 2005. When turning the air conditioning off, my vehicle accelerates and, when turning it on, it normalizes. This means I need to drive with the air conditioning always on so that the car works properly. I've already changed the idle speed valve, but nothing got better. Hope you can help me.

Hello. When your car is warm in P, rpm should be around 700-800. If they are higher than this, calibrate them with the throttle body and put them at 700-800 rpm. Open the switch without starting the car so that the idle speed engine is adjusted. By driving for a while at high and low, it will be adjusted.

Air conditioning failure

Mitsubishi Lancer 2008  80000 miles
Good morning, friends. I would like to share a problem I had a couple of weeks ago. I turned on the air conditioning of my vehicle and it started working properly but, after a while, I noticed that the air conditioning indicator was blinking, so I understood cooling gas was missing, and it was logical because it was a year since the last time I had charged it. I then took it to a specialized center, gas was charged and the compressor activated, thus blowing freezing air inside the cabin. However, not a long time after I left the center, the indicator started blinking once more and the air cond… Read complete

You have an electrical failure, so you need to check the air conditioning electric system, as well as the air conditioning control because it is not normal that the indicator is blinking.

It's factory fault. Don't worry, don't change the engine.

Air conditioning compensation

Mitsubishi Lancer 2004  112000 miles
Every time I turn the air conditioning on, rpm drop and the car feels a bit tight; I consider the compensator is not activating to maintain rpm. It's been a year and a half since I started having this little problem. I was told it was the IAC, but also that the computer was not sending the signal. I had to raise revolutions a bit so that the engine did not stall nor the vehicle tremble; but I think this way the vehicle consumes more fuel. I really need an electrical diagram to solve the problem. Thank you.

I had a case like yours yesterday and solved it. You need to check both the IAC valve and the computer, as when the first is in a really bad condition, it tends to damage the computer as well. Check the wiring that connects the two of them, which is beneath the glove compartment on the passenger side.

Aircon suddenly stopped working.

Mitsubishi Lancer 2008 2.0L SEDAN 80000 miles
AC stopped working after a burnt smell came out if the vents. We checked the van blower and found out that it needs to be replaced. So we did... after replacing it with a brand new blower fan. There was still nothing. We live in the Philippines but currently visiting the US. And it's a pain in the a$$ to have your car checked at the dealership because of the hocus pocus they tell you when it's really not the problem you want get fixed. Can anyone give advice. Thank you
