Throttle body cleaning

Nissan Altima 2003  229000 miles
My problem is that after I cleaned the throttle body and maf sensor, when I start the car it accelerates and deccelerates, and when I start driving the car jerks and hesitates, and the revolutions go up and down. Does anybody know what I can do to solve this?

Take it to get the throttle body scanned with a cj4 scanner, you can also do it manually but it takes longer

I had same issue for my Altima, you have to reconfigure the throttle body. Either with a scanner andor program it urself

It accelerates and deaccelerates and jerks SolvedSolved

Nissan Altima 2008  100000 miles
Everything was fine until I did my car's tuning. Before I scanned it and it only said that I had to change the bank 1 sendor, but the car was working fine. When I disassembled the throttle body to replace the spark plugs behind the engine, that's when the problem started. It accelerates and deaccelerates a lot in Drive, and when I scanned it it said that I had to seal correctly the throttle body. I did it and it stayed the same, it burns a lot of gas, but the spark plugs are fine, and the scanner is not showing anything

You have to recalibrate the throttle body, it's normal that when you clean it it needs to be recalibrated. In the Nissan vehicles the computer will recalibrate it on its own after a few days, and you can also do it "manually" so to speak, stepping on the throttle at regular intervals, and the last one is recalibrating with a scanner.

I had the same problem after cleaning the the throttle body and I fixed it "resetting" the throttle system. You can do it yourself following these steps:
1. Start the engine and let it warm up until the normal working temperature, that is when the radiator fans start working.
2. Switch the engine off and wait for 5 seconds.
3. Turn the ingition switch until the indicator lights turn on, and wait 3 seconds
4. When you counted the 3 seconds, immediatly you have to step on the gas pedal and let it go 5 times in less that 5 seconds, that is, one pump per second.
5. When you stepped on it for the 5th time, let it go and wait exactly 7 seconds
6. When the 7 seconds are up, step on the gas pedal all the way to the floor without letting go for 21 seconds. Here there are two things that will happen if you did everything correctly so far, so you might need somebody else to pay attention to the check engine light: around the second 11 the check light should go off and immediatly afterwards start blinking. If this happens you're on your way to reprogramming the throttle body.
7. When you get to the 21st or 22nd second, the check engine light should stay on again. Let the pedal go and count 3 seconds.
8. When the 3 seconds are up, turn the engine on and wait another 21 seconds. If you did everything correcly, you should notice that when the 21 seconds start, the engine should lower the revolutions until 750 and stabilize there.
9. When the 21 seconds are elapsed, accelerate it 3 times so you can check that after each one the revolutions go down normally. If this happens, your throttle body is already reprogrammed

Accelerating and stereo problems SolvedSolved

Nissan Altima 2002  150000 miles
It is not always but it occurs to me that, as I'm driving at 70 or 80 mph, the vehicle loses power and the accelerator won't work properly. At the same time that this happens the stereo turns off. In case it has something to do, the stereo is not the agency's one, and it is connected directly to the battery. I wait for a while, and suddenly the accelerator starts working again and the stereo too as if nothing had taken place.

Hey, your problem will get worse as time goes by. I recommend you to check your alternator's amperage and voltage, which must be around 110 amp and 14.55 volts. Your problem might be a damaged diode.
BENJIE from United States 9 years ago
This happened to my Altima 2003 2.5L and I solved it by changing the alternator.

Engine starting

Nissan Altima 2002  128000 miles
It takes long for my Altima to start working and, when it finally does, revolutions go down and suddenly stalls. This happens time after time and even sometimes a kind of explotions can be heard coming from the car's exhaust. In order to start the engine I need to keep the accelerator pressed as it takes quite a long time to turn on. I was told to change the fuel pump, but at the same time read on the Internet that, in most of the cases, this problem has to do with the crankshaft's and camshaft's sensor. Which is your recommendation?

I consider that your problem must be in the crankshaft's and camshaft's sensor as you mentioned. The first one could be cutting of the spark or the last one not opening the injectors and that is why you hear explotions.
Minite from United States 9 years ago
In order to make sure whether the pump is the cause of your problem, you should install the injector cleaner and check if it accelerates and works. If it does then it is the fuel pump.

Gas pedal problems 2016 Altima

Nissan Altima 2016  25000 miles
Gas pedal problem. Driving along foot on accelerator -no power -my son and husband pressed their foot all way down on the pedal does nothing. The lack of power has happened five times. Two of these times with no power to get out of the way almost caused a wreck but pedal finally engaged. They wont let me drive it. Anyone else having this problem ? If so, how did it get fixed ? This is a helpless feeling. I love my Altima runs great but have a fear of being on 75 and not having power. Only happens rarely but when it does its scary. Help ?

We have the same problem. Have spent a lot of money and time trying t get it the bottom of the Problem. We have been to our local mechanic three times and Nilsson mechanics which. Is a 4 hour drive. Nisson had our car for four days and still could not find a permanent cure. It is a very dangerous situation. We can be driving along the highway and without warning the car looses power. We have to turn the engine of and start it again. Sometimes it will start again but more than often it will take several tries before it will respond. Is it possible to get Nisson to respond to a request to have a company opinion.

Sue them i did. They could care less just want to sell them then charge you an arm to fix them or try to anyway.
フリーマン from Nigeria 4 years ago
That has to do with the throttle body it needs replacement and also check the maf sensor and air filter you'll have to reconfigure the new throttle body check that on YouTube hope this helps let us know how you got it done good luck. Ps I forgot also check fuel pump if you've never changed it before it may have low pressure or when it gets hot it does such I've experienced it in my peaguot 407

Cylinder missing. Code reader at auto parts store will tell which cylinder is missing. They go in order left to right 1234 looking at the emgine. Most likely it is an ignition coil. Take off cover unplug the bad coil. Loosen screw and pull it up off the plug and install the new coil. Takes 5 minutes in the auto parts store parking lot.

Acceleration from stop with A/C on

Nissan Altima 2013 4 Door SL Automatic 100000 miles
My problem only occurs with the A/C on - when I come to a complete stop at a stop light, etc, when I hit the accelerator to go again, it does absolutely nothing. On occasion it will move, but hesitate badly. Usually, there are no RPM's, moves very slowly if at all. However, when I turn the A/C off, BOOM - we're off to the races, no hesitation or questions asked.

Loss of acceleration ability

Nissan Altima 2014 Altima  71690 miles
Hi,
My Altima, when driving long distance at high speed. Continues to lose the ability to accelerate. On the interstate driving 75, when suddenly the gas pedal does nothing and I feel like I'm stuck in fifth gear with no access to torque. This does not happen at all when driving around town even if my speed is greater than 85... what is wrong and how do I fix it?
