My blazer still won't start, now all of a sudden I open the door and the alarm goes off. And my key fob's don't work. Could that be tripping something to stop the injectors from working?
Roseylinn from United States 7 years ago
Do you have a small automatic start stop door button and after market security system? I ask because my 97 Blazer was giving me same problem after changing everything out as I had it pulled test were fine on removed parts. Turned out being after market security system...I went under the dash on the driver seat by where my hood release handle and e-mailed break is undid the steering column or under dash found all the wiring housing units and I unplugged it through out that remote hadn't had a problem since.

I had the same problem on a 1999 blazer. Ihad to relearn the key several times, takes 30 minutes, each time i did it. I finly took steering colum apart and eliminated the yellow wire. Basicaly bypasses the security system chevy installed. Both these procedures are on u tube. Mine has been fine for over a year now, only bitch is security light is always on,black tape and i'm happy.

1 check basis fuel level, oil level, engine coolant condition and level {at the rad) , battery condition and CONNECTIONS this is more important than the average guy realises. , check spark at the PLUGS, check fuel volume and pressures...with a gauge , scan for OBD2 code document codes numbers order of the codes and how many of each code and keep them in order. Check all fuses look for burnt, corroded and loose. This will start u on a proper diagnostic path... as far a security system and paslock very possible i have repaired , replace many of the systems over the last 40 years do the. Basics first... DO NOT believe the OBD2 codes often codes are set due to dead battrerys ,loose ,dirty battery connections boosting, pulling wiring off sensor, wet or corroded fuse box (they r not just a fuse box anymore)...

Chevrolet Blazer 1993 K blazer 275365 miles
I have 1993 K Blazer that seems to stall when its hot and humid out... I have put new motor that now has about 60,000 miles on it... I have replaced map, sensor, egr, distributor, plugs, wires, coil, vacuum lines, fuel pump, fuel tank because it had a hole, vents in tank, fuel filter and many other parts and noone can still seem to figure out why i have intermittent stalls... It could be on interstate, at red light, stop sign it just will stall and start back up... It always seems to do it when it is hot and humid or just started because i didnt have this problem over winter or spring... Can someone please help me

Starting/fuel issue

Chevrolet Blazer 2000 Blazer 100000 miles
My 2000 Chevy blazer 4.3liter has to keep cranking on and off takes like 20 mins and it starts up and will idle but when you give it gas it will act like it wants to die. Has a new fuel pump, filter, plugs, wires, map sensor, fuel pressure regulator, changed spider, crank sensor even after all that they turn the switch on and off and after about 15 times it will finally fire up and sit there and idle just fine and after it sits about 5 mins and you give gas it acts like it will die then let off and it idles again. Tried to unplug throttle position sensor and could give gas but when let off acted like it wanted to die put back in and same idles but acts like it wants to die and it back fires. What could it be

There are a few potential issues that could cause the problems you described with your Chevrolet Blazer. Some possible causes could include a faulty mass airflow sensor, a clogged fuel injector, a malfunctioning fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator, or an issue with the ignition system such as a faulty spark plug or ignition coil. It's also possible that the problem could be caused by a fault in the engine control module or other electronic component.
To troubleshoot the issue, you may want to start by checking the fuel pressure at the fuel rail using a fuel pressure gauge. If the fuel pressure is within the manufacturer's specified range, you can try cleaning the fuel injectors using a fuel injector cleaning kit. If the fuel pressure is low, you may need to replace the fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator.
You may also want to check the mass airflow sensor and make sure it is functioning correctly. If the mass airflow sensor is faulty or dirty, it could cause the engine to run poorly or stall. Other components of the ignition system such as spark plugs and ignition coils should also be checked to ensure they are functioning properly.

Parasitic draw from battery

Chevrolet Blazer 1999 Lt 200000 miles
It starts and runs from a few seconds to a minute then stalls the idler pulley is bad and makes us think it’s causing the alternator to not charge properly. It also sat for a good while before my cousin got it so I’m thinking the fuel pump isn’t putting out the right psi. It also starts to struggle when it’s in any drive gear. We’ve taken the starter off and cleaned it thoroughly, replaced alternator and battery and it ran good for a while it’s got engine noise I’m guessing could be a spun bearing because he’s ran out of coolant twice and his oil pressure drops at the same time. Could mainly use help narrowing it down.

There are several potential issues that could be causing the problems you've described with your Chevrolet Blazer. Here are a few possibilities:

Fuel pump: If the fuel pump isn't putting out the right pressure, it could cause the engine to run poorly or stall.
Idler pulley: If the idler pulley is faulty, it could cause issues with the alternator and result in a parasitic draw on the battery.
Spun bearing: If there is a problem with a bearing in the engine, it could cause noise and potentially cause the engine to run poorly or stall.
Alternator: If the alternator is not charging the battery properly, it could cause a parasitic draw on the battery and result in the vehicle stalling.
Battery: If the battery is not holding a charge, it could cause the vehicle to start and run poorly or stall.

Check hoses filter and lines also could be the fuel pump sensor... if cars older and been a while since changing filters, sometimes these older Chevy's become ammuned to the corrosion and the pressure flow... when you change it all the cars computers will struggle reading once it's got alot of air flow and cleaned lines... takes a couple weeks for it to catch up to the changes before it reads correctly or acts right again for you.

Electrical failure

Chevrolet Blazer 2001  250000 miles
Good afternoon, I would be glad if anyone could help me with my problem. My car had a failure in the fuel pump's fuse, and at the whole fuse box was replaced by a new one. That was the moment when a strange electrical failure appeared. I've already bought three batteries and a whole fuel pump and the problem is still there. It has happened only once that it started and lasted on for an hour and then stalled. I've also changed the coil and the module but it is still failing.

2005 chevy blazer keeps blowing the Emc fuse.

Chevrolet Blazer 2005 Four door, 4.3 littler, four wheel drive blazer. 267000 miles
I went out to drive my 2005 chevy blazer. I didnt hear the fuel pump or the clicking under the hood it makes when you turn it on. It would crank but no starting. So i bought a fuel pump and it still acted the same way. So i get under and checked the body grounds and fixed them. Then put new fuse in started and ran good then came home and it keeps blowing the EMC fuse when i turn on key. Caint quite find the problem. Could it be a bad ground on fuel pump or what?
