Chevrolet Equinox 2005 2005 Chevy Equinox 102445 miles
I was parked just idling, all of a sudden the engine revved up to 2500rpm but then came back down to normal. Then my engine light came on. What would make this happen?

Misfire. Check spark plugs and wires. If not check egr valvue.

Sounds like a throttle position sensor issue

Same problem for me. It was the front catalytic converter needed replacing. Problem solved
