Chevrolet Equinox 2007 85000 miles
I bought an Equinox 2007 two months ago and it has already presented many failures. The one that worries me the most is that, when driving on an uphill road and over 40 mph, it is really hard to speed it up. When I try to overtake another vehicle and hit the accelerator hard, a forced engine sound becomes audible, the speed goes down and it suddenly starts with a hard jerk, more like a kick. Another thing that happened to me yesterday was that, after fuelling the car, I turned the engine on and the steering was really hard, to the point of not being able to turn the steering wheel. I turned off the car and on again and, luckily, it started working normally again.

I had this problem and I changed the main flow and it was solved. You should as well check your accelerator.

In my case, I changed the valves body and it was the solution to the problem.

Mine did that. It would slow down and then all of a sudden speed up and audible noise from the engine. It was the timing chain. Have had it replaced 3 times.

Could be simple as a bad throttle position sensor or as complicated as a bad timing chain

I had the SAME EXACT acceleration problem. No check engine light either. $3700 in repairs/parts... even a warranty covered replacement transmission...still had the same problem. after 6 months check engine light came on. Turns out front catalytic converter was well beyond repair . The front catalytic converters in these cars go out well before the check engine light comes on making it hard to diagnose

Chevrolet Equinox 2007 88000 miles
When driving at 40 mph or more, the rear tires jerk. I try to speed it up but it won't accelerate. Might it be the transmission? Thank you in advance.

Change the spark plugs' wires and the jerk will stop. I recommend you to but Gargol's wiring, it is better than the agency's.

My Equinox has been running rough last 2 months when you hit the gas to catch up to speed it boggs out and then eventually gets to were it needs to be but a lot of times when coming to a stop it stalls out I put in neutral and it fires right back on long story short it last stalled in my driveway 3 days ago and in my opinion it is possibly some sort of electrical issue or gas issue i did go get the starter checked and it's fine so help me please lol

I had that problem intermittently as well for about 2 weeks I ended up replacing the starter relay, & fuse fuel pump relay or fuse whichever it called for then I replaced the battery and alternator then had my computer reset it's been almost 3 weeks and I've now had no issues cranking it up. Now the mylink is another story ps. I've heard that the 2.4 model has a oil consumption problem and a problem with the pistons getting clogged especially if your using the eco mode regularly. My 16 equinox lt 2.4 has about 78000 miles on it I have had so many issues and will probably be trading it in ASAP
It's the front catalytic converter dude. I've dropped $3700 in repairs to come to that conclusion....and it worked. Speaking from experience. The oem go bad unusually early (50-60k) and don't throw a code until it's completely too late.
Yes I have the same issue , it’s prob an electrical fault . Order a code reader (OBD) and turn key on 2 clicks , pull up codes and clear them and then it should fire right up and sometimes when the battery goes dead it takes a jump with another car for like 20-30 min and it’s a process let me see if I can find instructions to post for you but I have to have an el truck source ( jump with another car ) and or full battery to get it going and reset the anti theft then it will start , the only other reason would be if it needs a new crank sensor or cam sensor

I was parked just idling, all of a sudden the engine revved up to 2500rpm but then came back down to normal. Then my engine light came on. What would make this happen?

Misfire. Check spark plugs and wires. If not check egr valvue.
Same problem for me. It was the front catalytic converter needed replacing. Problem solved
