Escort RST S2, 1.6 CVH Turbo engine with...MFI hydro F. I (fuel injection. KE jetronic...system. The engine ran...then woerk was done...too the chasis...now the engine wont run? There is sparks at the spark plugs...so that tells me...the hall efect electronic distibutor and coil are okay... The spark plugs arte wet... This tells me the csv (cold start valve is working... The fuel pump rpimes , and runs , on strating...so that is okay...and all postive feeds are okay too the relay, and the fuse 7n is okay. (fuel pump fuse. Ford Escort 1989 HATCHBACK 180000 miles
Escort MkIV 1989 1.3 HCS Weber 2v carb The car failed with lots of white smoke. The top end of the engine has been rebuilt. The head was very slightly distorted and has been skimmed and the values machined. The value clearances have been set very carefully. The carb has been cleaned and refurbished with all new genuine Ford gaskets by a specialist. The car had been filled with contaminated petrol that has been removed and the pipes very throughly flushed through. Tests indicate that the contaminated fuel has been successfully cleared. I have to shift at 1.5 RPMs, I must shift into 5th going 30 MPH

Hello! I am having some trouble figuring this one out. I drive a 1996 Ford escort. The problem started about a week ago, I was driving and it felt like my engine or something was slipping. Like I was taking my foot off the accelerator constantly, you could describe it as hesitation. The very next day it started jutting very bad.
