Ignition cylinder may need to be replaced. This is a very common problem in focus. If it's a no crank no start, then may be ignition cylinder

Dashboard: no lights, no power- exterior lights all work and radio too

Ford Focus 2013 FOCUS SE Flexfuel  16000 miles
The blower on my heater started making a horrible racket this morning. Waaaaah. So I ran it at speed 1. Sometimes when I drive, if AM radio is on, there is a winding up sound that comes thru the radio! THEN this morning after driving around for most of the day, the dashboard just cut out. No warning. Just out. Radio works even if car is off. Interior lights, yes cool. Exterior lights brakes lights, hazards, all good. Found the fuse (mini5 amp - fuse socket 69). Pulled it out. Burned. Okay, fine, changed it. No change in issue. FINALLY: recently the battery light has come on for no reason… Read complete

I would ideally need to check the car over any coolant leak had to top it up at all ? Possibility coolant leaking behind dash from heater matrix could have got into the electrics and caused shorts. Could be a bad alternator running to much voltage. Could be faulty ecu if someone has done work on the vehicle which involved removing the window trim and wipers and didn’t refit correctly the tops of the engine (spark plug holes on petrols fill with water and corrode the engine. If water some how got into your ecu this would cause you symptomatic nightmares as this basically controls your vehicle. Check main wiring harnesses for damage remove and disconnect your dodgy fan inspect the wiring could be a real pain (dash removal) check dash cluster / clock and wiring behind them. If not mechanically smart find someone who is to check dude. If all wiring is ok and all relays are ok in relay plates ie not green / white corroded. Also check the big amp fuses 40-50-60 amp ones. If all ok check your alternator and battery maybe ford fitted you wrong one ? Ford won’t admit liability for out. , alternate option replace exhaust sell it and run lol

My car isn't starting

Ford Focus 2003 hatchback, automatic  26000 miles
All dashboard lights working. But the starter and the fuel pump aren't picking up at all. I've checked all the fuses and couldn't find any cause.

The issue with your 2003 Ford Focus not starting can be caused by a few different things. Here are some common causes for this issue:

Battery: If the battery is weak, it may not have enough power to start the engine. Try jumping the battery or have it tested to see if it's the issue.
Starter Motor: The starter motor may be faulty and not engaging the flywheel to crank the engine. Have the starter motor tested.
Ignition Switch: The ignition switch could be faulty and not sending the proper signal to the starter motor to engage.
Fuel Pump: If the fuel pump is not functioning, the engine will not start. Check the fuel pump relay and fuel pump fuse to see if they are functioning properly.
Engine Control Module (ECM): If the Engine Control Module (ECM) is not functioning, it may prevent the engine from starting. Have the ECM checked.
Camshaft or Crankshaft Position Sensors: These sensors are responsible for telling the ECM the position of the engine and if they are not functioning, the engine may not start.

Car will not start SolvedSolved

Ford Focus 2011 Ford focus sport TDCI. 1.6L Duratora Econetic (DV6) 20kw (109ps) stage IV with a DPF 5 door manual transmission fuel diesel co3 emissions=115g/km  65 miles
Never had any problems starting car till the other day. About 2weeks ago I noticed a lot of water running from under car I had been driving for 50 mins it was a really hot day so had air conditioning on whole time so I know the water was to do with having air con on but there was an awful lot. A few days later I could here a noise when starting the car like a scrapping noise which got worse each day now car won't start. Took my jump starter out but still won't start so thinking I need a new battery I know I'm probably still gonna hear the scrapping noise after putting new battery in. Any ideas what's wrong with my car?

No power to radio

Ford Focus 2013 1.6 D eco-something Estate  123456 miles
Ok I have the keyless MK3 Focus on a 62 plate (Fuse box looks like the 2014 layout) I know there are some timer controls that manage the radio. My first radio popped and crackled until it blew up due to some coins that had been inserted in the CD slot. The replacement had been fine until the timing belt lost too many teeth and took out the cam. Now I have no audio. The SYNC is still working, It will answer my calls (but no audio) the time is showing plus reverse camera all good on the display. But no power to the cd player. I have checked all fuses in 3 fuseboxes, swapped some relay… Read complete

Turns over once no start

Ford Focus 2003 Hatchback ZX3 237419 miles
The serpentine belt and that's what started everything. Then found out the tensioner was broken so replaced. Wouldn't start that's when we got a new starter. Now it won't even spin. Just clicks once and doesn't even try. Checked grounds, fuses and Relays. All good. Connections are solid also. Take starter back off and hook jumper wires up and it spins over perfect. Just not in the car. Took out spark plugs and tried to start it
Nothing. Help! I'm about to just burn it to the ground

Car won't start when I go to start it, I literally have to pop my bonnet (car bonnet lock latch is broken aswell 🤯) every single time I want to use my car! even if I had just been driving my car and turned it off, I'd have to go jump start it with portable jump starter kit that I have...
Tried another battery also and same problem just bought a alternator to replace that but scared to do it and then that not even fix the problem and my car not be able to turn on even with the jump starter kit!?
