Three cylinders change SolvedSolved

Kia Sephia 1993  33000 miles
The engine starts perfectly but, at 2000 rpm, it sets at three cylinders and, if I keep accelerating, it starts working properly. I've already changed the distributor cap and spark plugs but the failure remains.

Hi, SUE. I had your same problem with a Kia Sephia and it was due to a broken spark plug wire.

Certainly, it was the spark plugs wiring that was failing. I changed it and the problem disappeared. Thank you very much for your response.

Vibration when accelerating

Kia Sephia 2000  140000 miles
Hello, my Sephia has a failure that appears intermittently, every now and then. When starting to drive at first gears, every time I accelerate, the car vibrates. As I release the accelerator, the vibration stops. And even more, the harder I accelerate, the stronger the vibration is. But as I set higher gears, the car vibrates less every time and, at 5th gear, it is not felt any more. I've already changed bearings, spark plugs wires and spark plugs, but the problem persists. Does anyone know anything about it?

It is easy: check the front bearings, which must be distorted and need to be replaced. This happened to me and, after changing them, it is now working properly.

It is the engine chargers that are damaged. If you can, I recommend you to change the ones from the gearbox just as well and it will work perfectly.

I suspect problems with rotating parts- discs, shafts, inner and outer cvs, wheels, rims etc. Check them all out and by elimination you will find the culprit.

Stalls when driving

Kia Sephia 1996  300000 miles
Some days ago, the cylinder head was serviced and the valves adjusted, because my car had an oil leakage that damaged the air sensor. At the same time, almost all the sensors were cleaned. However, it now happens that, when starting to drive, the vehicle suddenly stalls. The fuel pump has been checked and it seems to be alright. But the failure is still there and I do not know what else to check. Could you please give me your opinion?

Hey, your problem is in the immobilizer, which you need to either replace or give maintainance.

Hello everyone. The problem you have is that the steering wheel sensor is damaged. I tell you because this has already happened to me.

Fuel pump failure

Kia Sephia 2000
My car has a problem with the fuel pump. I do not know why but, every time I travel, the vehicle overheats. The failure starts with a power loss, the car then chokes and I have to stop, in order for it to cool down. After that, it works properly for weeks. It is a quite strange problem the one I have. When it fails, I have to change the fuel pump and it lasts for a while.

Check the fuel pump engine, which must be damaged. This happens because, as the car overheats, the pump pressure decreases, so it stops working until the car is cool again and it starts working properly once more. This same thing happened to me and you simply need to change this litle internal engine.

Spark plugs wires connection

Kia Sephia 2001  180541 miles
My vehicle had a failure in the spark plugs wires, so I decided to change them. But now, the problem is that I've connected wrongly. Please help me by telling me where I should connect each wire, as I've installed them all the way around and do not remember the correct one.

Start connecting them from the first cylinder.

Injection failure

Kia Sephia 2000
My vehicle has got automatic transmission and, when driving to a hilly place with the air conditioning on, it comes a moment when the car starts jerking until it chokes and stops working. I need to leave it off for around 20 minutes and it then keeps working as if nothing had happened. One of the worst things is that it does not consume coolant, the engine temperature does not raise and the check engine light does not turn on either. Might it be a sensor that is failing? This has occurred to me even when injectors were just cleaned, it had new spark plugs and had just been tuned up.
