Dies suddenly. SolvedSolved

Honda Accord 1994 2.2 189000 miles
Car will run for a few miles then either dies suddenly or won't start back up after turning it off. No spark until everything cools off for awhile. Then it fires right up.

Since the car was dying and starting at the same intervals, I figured it was heat related. And since there was no fire when it would die, I figured it was either the ecu or something in the distributor. I went with the cheapest of the two and changed the whole distributor seeing as how the distributor life was 150,000 miles anyway. Not sure exactly what it was that was getting hot and shutting down, but it fixed my problem.

Cranks but not starting

Honda Accord 2004 4D 2.4l  250000 miles
When I turn the key the car tries to turn over but seems like it’s just not there. I recently changed the VCG and the spark plugs as well as the timing solenoid. The starter works and the car ran before the Valve cover gasket was replaced.

2009 Accord 3.5L EX-L fix

Honda Accord 2009 EX-L V-6 Sedan 3.5L 5A
I have had my honda accord 2009 v6 serviced for constant spark plug fouling and oil consumption. After a total of 10 visits, and over 40 days without my car over the course of 3 years, i had received a total of 3 spark plug sets, two oil consumption tests, lost two catalytic converters, and o2 sensors. Even with this constant spark plug replacement, it did not alleviate any issues. I kept breaking down on the side of the road with a rumbling, misfiring engine. After numerous trips to honda, they refused to acknowledge the problem. After speaking to a district rep and being referred to paragon… Read complete

Problem 2009 Honda Accord 6cyl

Honda Accord 2009 EX-L V-6 Coupe 3.5L 5A 1000 miles
I went to independence honda and asked as to why between maintenance, i was having to add oil. I was told to bring it back when it was needed, and he would document it. Come to find out, they were doing an oil consumption test. Independence honda closed and is now legends honda. He told me to bring it in and they would fix it. Gave me a loaner car. Called me back and said they would have to do a oil consumption test. They claim they only put in about a quart per 1000 miles. Regardless of what my dip stick shows. I will just need to watch my oil. I've had to have my spark plugs replaced twice in the year. Honda continues to actively conceal the defect from consumers and deny there's a known problem. *jb

2009 Accord 5A EX-L V-6 2dr problem

Honda Accord 2009 EX-L V-6 Coupe 3.5L 5A 9500 miles
Vehicle has been consuming oil since purchased with 9,500 miles. Oil consumption has contributed to fouled spark plugs. Fouled spark plugs triggered "cylinder #3 misfire" code and extremely poor performance at highway speeds. Two different occasions the car experienced different cylinder misfire issues. Honda dealer performed engine computer software updates on two different occasions that did not remedy the oil consumption issue. No warning lights to indicate that the engine was 3 quarts low on oil. If the consumer is not aware that the vehicle is using oil, there is potential for the engine… Read complete

Problem 2009 Accord

Honda Accord 2009  1000 miles
The car is equipped with the v6 engine that has vcm (variable cylinder management). I have read several different reasons for the problem at hand but, the car is consuming far more oil than it should. From the consuming of the oil it is also causing spark plugs to foul. There are tons of forums online with people that have the same complaint as well as a class action law suit that was filed sometime in 2012. From everything i have read from researching the problem, honda either denies there is a problem with the vehicle, supposedly installs some computer upgrade that doesn't fix the problem, t… Read complete

2010 Accord issues

Honda Accord 2010
The check engine light comes on and the car makes noise and driving is not smooth. When i continued to drive it to the dealer the vsa, and the wrench came on. They did a diagnostic and said it was a spark plug miss firing. I drove my car to georgia and the same thing happened while i was on the road and had to have it fixed there. Now it is doing the same thing one month later. I will be taking it to the dealer to have it checked. I found on the internet that their is a class action suit for the same thing. It is resolved when the put a new motor in the car. My car does not leak oil but reads that the oil is low. The oil light does not come on when this happens. I would like to have the car fixed but not continually at my expense. *tr

Fix 2010 Accord EX-L

Honda Accord 2010 EX-L V-6 Coupe 3.5L 6M
When driving on the freeway on my way to work the check engine light came on. After exiting i checked for error codes (as i always carry the p-code reader with me). The code stated that cylinder 3 was misfiring. I double checked all spark plugs to make sure the connections were okay. The engine light continued to come on, with a rough idle, and engine codes started to be more spontaneous as it stated random misfires/multiple cylinder misfires. I took my car to honda and was told that i likely need to replace the ignition coil, so i did that and still experienced the same problem. I then took i… Read complete
