If the mini fuse for the windshield wipers is good, then you can try checking the relay fuse next. The relay fuse is responsible for controlling the power supply to the windshield wipers. If the relay fuse is blown, it could be causing the wipers to not work. You can check the relay fuse by looking in the fuse box under the hood or in the interior of the vehicle. Additionally, you may want to check the wiring and connections to the wipers to make sure there are no loose or damaged wires.

Something like the worm screw must have damaged in the windshield wiper motor, you might need to replace it entirely. Check this out: https://sites.google.com/site/f150serv…

Wiper wiring or switch?

Ford F-150 1998 Ford F150xl 2500000 miles
Wiper moter went out, got new motor installed it burned out right away, checked wiring and found that with key off on on I had power of 5.38 to white wire and 5.38 to greenish wire. Black + White wire has 12v when key is on and ground is working ok along with park wire. Now this isn't right, you should only be gettin power to high speed wire or low speed wire when wiper switch is engaged so is it a wiring issue or has the switch gone bad?????

I changed out the stick, any idea where i can find the wiring diagram i need so i can check it with a voltage meter? Im thinking i have a bad wire somewhere along the way.

Pappybeare from United States 3 years ago
I have read that a front windshield leak causes the GEM module to short out if at any time you have things that come on and off without you turning them on. It is a box connected directly on top of the under dash fuse box. It is very hard to get out, and they are hard to find for the older trucks. You either have to buy used or remanufactured, and the model number of your part has to exactly match or all of your options will not work. I’m still trying to get one for mine, but haven’t had any luck. I have looked for a cross reference part #, but haven’t had any luck. Even my call to Ford ended with them telling me to find an electronics repair shop that can refurbish mine. I still haven’t found one that will guarantee the part for more than 30 days, and they want me to send my part to them and then wait for them to make the repair and they will mail it back. The cost is astronomical too! To have mine repaired it was $400, and if I want to take a chance on a junkyard part, I can get one for $150. The junkyard part is only guaranteed with an exchange if the part they send don’t work. I can’t find any information on specs, or any testing methods. I’ve even tried to get nomenclature to find out what the model #digits mean. There is mot much good info on this part. I hope this helps. Make sure you have the windshield resealed before replacing the part if that’s what yours turns out to be.

I think that's my problem. When I brought it home. I had break lights and turn signals. Now I have none. Bad arch when putting battery cable on. Positive or negative? What do you think?

So driving down the road and the solution came to me, in the form of my under dash fuse panel. It caught fire! Got it out with minimal damage. New fuse panel (and a couple short wire repairs), no more issues! Not my preferred way of finding the issue but it is solved and fixed.

The fact that the radio and door chime will not shut off, even with the key out and the lights off, could be caused by a problem with the electrical system or a malfunctioning component.
Here are a few things you can try:

Check the radio and door chime fuse. The radio and door chime are powered by a separate fuse, and if this fuse is blown, it could cause the radio and door chime to stay on. Locate the fuse panel and check the radio and door chime fuse to see if it is blown or damaged.
Check the radio and door chime wiring. The radio and door chime are powered by a separate wiring harness, and if there is a problem with the wiring, it could cause the radio and door chime to stay on. Check the wiring harness and connectors for any loose, damaged, or corroded wires. Make sure all connections are secure and free of any visible damage.
Check the radio and door chime switch. The radio and door chime are controlled by a separate switch, and if this switch is malfunctioning, it could cause the radio and door chime to stay on. Check the switch to see if it is functioning properly.
Check the radio and door chime module. The radio and door chime are controlled by a separate module, and if this module is malfunctioning, it could cause the radio and door chime to stay on. Check the module to see if it is functioning properly.
If you are unable to identify the source of the problem or if the issue persists after checking these components, I recommend having a mechanic diagnose and repair the issue to ensure that the problem is properly addressed and the vehicle is safe to drive.

Truck power problems

Ford F-150 1999 Extended cab F150 5.4 178000 miles
Truck runs good for a little bit then it starts sputtering and losing power the LED lights go dim n then the battery won't even have enough power to even make the starter solenoid click The only way it will start is you have to jump it thru the solenoid. It has a brand new solenoid and battery and all of the relays test good on the bench check all the fuse are good also. Not sure where to starter the wipers stay on unless you take the fuse out

Something Crazy going on with the Central Junction Box?

Ford F-150 1998 XLT, 4.2l, Regular Cab 104000 miles
I bought this truck about a year ago and this problem has occured only three times. Every once and a while my trucks battery will be flat because the lights will be on when the key is out and the truck has been sitting there for a bit. I also catch the radio going but it's always freaking out like the power is fluxuating in it. The oddest thing about it is I had a fuse replaced in it and it blew immediatly, took the fuze out to find that the wipers that go to the fuze worked without the fuze actually in. What do you guys think?
