Ford F-150 2002 F150 167000 miles
When my truck sits overnight, something is draining on the battery. When i open the door the dinger goes off and the radio turns on (off whenever i turn vehicle off). Start truck up and bam... No radio sometimes no wipers. It has a brand new battery i installed a month ago. Testing says alternator is fine. Only new in the last year is a fuel pump.

Damm even I am having a similar kind of issue, I have searched all over the internet and even have posted on number of threads on different forum, no solution seems to work. I am really frustrated, can anyone of you here help me resolve this issue, I am very much tired now

I have read that a front windshield leak causes the GEM module to short out if at any time you have things that come on and off without you turning them on. It is a box connected directly on top of the under dash fuse box. It is very hard to get out, and they are hard to find for the older trucks. You either have to buy used or remanufactured, and the model number of your part has to exactly match or all of your options will not work. I’m still trying to get one for mine, but haven’t had any luck. I have looked for a cross reference part #, but haven’t had any luck. Even my call to Ford ended with them telling me to find an electronics repair shop that can refurbish mine. I still haven’t found one that will guarantee the part for more than 30 days, and they want me to send my part to them and then wait for them to make the repair and they will mail it back. The cost is astronomical too! To have mine repaired it was $400, and if I want to take a chance on a junkyard part, I can get one for $150. The junkyard part is only guaranteed with an exchange if the part they send don’t work. I can’t find any information on specs, or any testing methods. I’ve even tried to get nomenclature to find out what the model #digits mean. There is mot much good info on this part. I hope this helps. Make sure you have the windshield resealed before replacing the part if that’s what yours turns out to be.

I think that's my problem. When I brought it home. I had break lights and turn signals. Now I have none. Bad arch when putting battery cable on. Positive or negative? What do you think?

So driving down the road and the solution came to me, in the form of my under dash fuse panel. It caught fire! Got it out with minimal damage. New fuse panel (and a couple short wire repairs), no more issues! Not my preferred way of finding the issue but it is solved and fixed.

I'm bout to rip into my dash. It has gone on for to long. I'm guessing that it has to do with the blend door one part at a time. Once I know what cuase this I will share
We had the same problem... truck map and radio and a/c we dead going down the road and ultimately the truck engine check light came on and went dead. Turned out to be a loose harness on the driver side under the hood near the firewall. Lasted 2 years but on hauling a trailer, Problem has reoccurred now and not sure the cause. F150 king ranch 2012
With LED tail lights equipped... a cracked tail light,, and water getting into connections can cause network communication failure , reflecting the problem in a number of systems , no communication. Believe it or not...

This just started happening to me about 1 month ago. It is intermittent, so one day all works well the next I have nothing. Controls on Dash (center) console not working; A/C, Heater, Radio, defrosters, etc. 1) When radio volume/pwr knob pushed the clock shows briefly in the led window above the console. 2) Hazard button works and turns hazards on. 3) CD Player controls work. 4) 12v outlet works. 5) USB port provides power. 6. ) Keyless entry (remote) no longer works when the center console controls aren't working but works on the days the controls are working. Anyone have any updates on a repair that will fix this??
I took my truck into Ford Dealership. Of course, everything was working fine that day. Told me they couldn't duplicate the problem in the shop or on a test drive. They decided to perform a self-test on all the modules and found multiple modules lost communication with the BCM (Body Control Module). Ran a self-test and network test on the BCM and it passed. Performed an inspection of the BCM itself and found C2280B on the bottom of the BCM to not be fully seated and locked. While wiggling this connector they were able to duplicate the no radio, heat, defrost or center console controls. Reinstalled the connector and made sure it was fully seated and locked. 3 days later and I haven't had any issues since. Cost me $190 labour but I wouldn't have been able to figure this out myself.

In the 2004 ford f150 if you have that problem its the ground screw on the passenger side because they left out sealent around the windshield,water gets down in the passenger side. Take off the panel by the fuse box towards the door and check the ground,its usally russted away. Take and put in a new ground screw or use one already there.

2015 f150. Have the same issue can't find solution. If I warm the interior and slam door really hard, the lights on mirrors and tailgate go out. If solution is found please let me know. Tks.
I have figured out that if the light switch in the bed of the truck is on your security lights on the mirror and camera light will stay on. Also my high beam lights are coming on by themselves.

Trucks at the dealership now they said the issue is a short in the Bedliner switch for the bed lights we will see if that's it when I get the truck back
@DwayneCan you show what switch or a part #? Or parts break down?
Also have the same issue with my 2019. Bed lights, side mirror lights and third light will all randomly come on and off...took it to the dealers and of course no clue.

They replaced the switch in the bed of the truck seem to solve that problem.
I wake up in the night and the mirror lights, parking light and truck bed lights are on. Get them turned off and then they are back on... no help, no answer. 2020 Ford 150 Limited
I have a 2020 XLT. My security camera will show my running lights turning on and off a couple of times a month. The last time I took in for an oil change I asked about it. I told him that the lights come on for a second or two and turn off. He said my truck was receiving an update. Hope this helps.

I am having same issue with my 2021 XLT. Puddle lights, rear light next to camera, and front led marker light’s keep going on and off randomly all day and night. Have appointment with dealer in a week. Hopefully the battery holds up til then

Auto parts stores sell a selection of fuses that ALSO HAS A TESTER. The mini fuses have little test ports on back, so can be tested w/o removing. Also getting the right fuse panel diagram is helpful.

My power mirrors, blind spot sensor, all climate control and door controls inoperable. Warning light comes on indicating blind spot issue... is this a fuse/relay issue? The best thing when buying a ford pickup is to pull into dealership and park. Then turn on GPS to find nearest toyota dealer. I have a f150 trouble with it from day one also!!! Ford needs people to stop buying the piece of shit product they sell and go out of business!!!! 5.4L engine is junk but they continued to make it knowing all of its problems. Fords solution has always been too bad buy something else!!

I have a similar problem with my 09 f150. The windows go down but when I want to close they stall, and go up in little spurts...if I leave it for a while and try every 2 mins then they finally close...has any one got a solution?
Id check window motor. And once the door panel is off, lube the linkage well to prevent binding. If the motor is weak, lubrication may buy you several months or more...

So i manule truned it off and it stayed lit up and the next moring battery died. Now it's running rough. Fuses, a broken wire, bad window motor for the age it has im sure the motor is burnt. As for turn signals check fuses, check bulbs, and if it has the emergencies button on top of the steering wheel sometimes the sun can brittle the contacts inside i repaired one by applying a shim to give it pressure.

Mine does the same thing. I have to use the actual key used to start the truck just to unlock the doors and nothing comes on and something clicks 3 or 4 times then stops

Fobs need either new batteries or to be reprogrammed according to the procedure in the manual.

I am upgrading my 2004/ Base New Style (Not the heritage) Ford F150 xlt supercrew cab to a lariat/ king ranch I have the updated wire harness for the in dash some how i have the plugs already for the electric seats. What other wire harnesses are necessary to complete this task. When I was at the junkyard I saw a module that i had never seen before google photos brought it up as a parking aid. Its connected to another harness that ties into wireway under the door... I dont really care for the moving peddles or electric seats... never been a fan of them... no short story to why i am doing this.… Read complete

Any ideas... I have checked all fuses relays spent days checking the in dash wire harness the body wire harnesses for cracked or ripped wire insulation. The windows were cracked open and it rained but even then my dome lights worked they have no stopped my key chime has stopped the back light and em flashers still light up the cluster nothing else... I cant find a single reason with a physical inspection. IDK just taking a shot in the dark, could the PATS system right in the center in the cab had gotten soaked for days. I had to pull the carpet and stuffing and let drain and vacuumed out the water it took a day or 2 to finish everything is dy now. I need help and have to escape my parents house that's in my name... A situation so bad its enough to make your stomach turn.

I disconnect all associated fuses and relay and it remains hot. Makes no sense! Does it have some sort of capacitor function that it would remain hot?

Had the same problem with my 2006. There is an accessory delay relay in in the fuse panel that I needed to replace. Not sure about your year. Maybe a faulty ignition switch if no relay.
For me, the ignition cylynder was broken, in such a way that it was possible to leave the accessories on all the time. For that problem you can either get a new ignition cylynder or rotate it to the proper off position always. Own same make same year.

Brake lights do not work, (third above the window does work), Turn signals work and running lights do as well.
Since the third light works I assumed it was not the switch... I checked all fuses and they were all good. I changed all bulbs, just to check and the same results.
Any ideas?
Since the third light works I assumed it was not the switch... I checked all fuses and they were all good. I changed all bulbs, just to check and the same results.
Any ideas?

Mine had the same problem checked everything and found a wire was cut off at the wire harness driver door between connector and door

Had to get a jump,instrument panel ,quit, no heater, no power windows, truck started backfiring after oil change was running fine until changed Draining battery

A friend of mine took his ford in for an oil change and they destroyed his turbo charge system and then tried to tell him that it was not their fault. He ended up getting a new truck. File a claim against the company after getting a trusted mech to tell you what went wrong

Ac fuse blowing, unplug high side pressure switch fuse doesn’t blow, unplug the ac plug also and fuse blows again. Some how someone is gaining access to my door locks and. Not setting off alarm , allowing them to open my hood and do things to my electrical eg. Grounding out my system causing a short blowing fuses cruise stopped abs light came on now engine has misfire but no engine light. I just replaced and programmed the computer now a lot of things aren’t working right

I had suspected that my truck had been being taken and used for illicit activity... and I still can’t figure out why the theft light blinks with no key in the ignition and I use the remote to lock it
