Crankshaft, cam sensors are good. Ignition module is good, I checked fuses believe all the ones I needed. Swapped pcm fuse with another. I I have no spark to any cylinder. I also had cooling fans not coming on as needed replaced couple relays n all is good now. Also check temperature control senser. Had same problems. Truck runs so much better now.

I went through this problem for about 9 months. Replaced icm, computer, disputer, coils, plugs , wires, tps, maf, egr , fuel pressure regulator,. Last thing replaced o2 sensor fixed the total thing. If I was to start over I would get the air right, o2 sensors and maf. Then check fuel pressure, and go from there. Go to a mechanic that can read the obd1 computer to diaganose it better. Good luck

If you have the 4R70E or W transmission there’s an issue with the design of the drum in the transmission and the valves sticking in the valve body. They make a better designed drum to fix the problem.

When I smoke the motor smoke comes out of my Egr and iac SolvedSolved

Ford F-150 1999 5.4. 4x4 232000 miles
Smoke comes from the Egr not gasket issue it's coming from under the top part where vacuum hooks up to also smoke comes from iac looks like it's coming from the little round part on side and also from unit itself.do these parts suck outside air or are they leaking. Also truck has code p0171 lean on bank 1 that I can't figure out. Any help would be appreciated. I also started the truck and tried the o propane gas bottle and carb cleaner and sprayed it around both WITH no change in motor running. Not sure what to do next except change plugs injectors and coil packs and see if that will solve my p0171 code.

I just had this problem as well. I took truck into garage and had intake gaskets replace new hoses and new intake. This cured my issue. Certainly something you may want to have looked into. Job was a little expensive but it was well worth it and I got a great deal on it. They found my intake was cracked, the tube behind intake had somehow broke and was leaking coolant, My truck shook at idle and take up with little power. This job can cost at much as $2000 but it was 1/2 cost at my local garage. I just got truck back and Its like its brand new. Good luck

My pick up does not accelerate

Ford F-150 1998  140000 miles
It started with jerks while driving; when starting gold y vibrates and then it normalizes. While driving it losed power as if choking a little, but now it got worse. It chokes while accelerating and sounds as if exploding, when I let go it keeps driving; if I accelerate again it does the same but it doesn't stall. If I turn it off for 5 seconds it works for 10 minutes and then it fails again. I alreadi cleaned the injectors, changed spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter, fuel pump, coils and their sensors. I've already had this problem for a year and they can't solve it, yesterday I scanned it and had air sensor error, but changing it didn't fix it.

No power to coilpacks

No power to coilpacks cranks no start
Mike from United States a year ago
MI
1 report
Bruce from United States a year ago
If your Ford F-150 has no power to the coil packs, it can result in the engine cranking but not starting. This could be due to a few different issues. Here are some common causes of this problem:

Ignition switch: If the ignition switch is faulty, it may not be sending the necessary power to the coil packs.
Engine control module (ECM): If the ECM is faulty, it may not be sending the necessary signals to the coil packs to activate them.
Ignition control module (ICM): If the ICM is faulty, it may not be sending the necessary power to the coil packs.
Wiring issues: If the wiring between the ignition switch, ECM, and ICM is damaged, it may not be sending the necessary power to the coil packs.
Poor connection: If there is a poor connection between the coil packs and the wiring, it may not be receiving the necessary power.
To diagnose the issue, you may need to use a diagnostic scanner and check for any codes related to the ignition system. If there are any codes, it may point you in the direction of the issue.

No power to A/C clutch relay

Ford F-150 2012 3.5L Ecoboost 4 door shortbed 62000 miles
I parked my truck A/C was working fine. Next morning started it up no A/C. After I did some troubleshooting the determination is fuse 30 (A/C clutch power10 A) in the power distribution box is good. I dig up some wiring diagrams and start through it. The load side of fuse 30 should have a internal (in the power distribution box) jumper to pin 3 (switch leg) on relay # 23 (fan clutch relay). I start it up, turn A/C on, I pull relay 23, check pin 3 nothing there. I go ahead and run thru the rest of the circuits. Ruff idle cuts out while driving loss of acceleration

Ford F-150 2005 Extended cab 4.6 stx 321500 miles
Check engine light was on so had auto zone run a scan on it. And at that time my truck would barley creep down the road. Well holy crap a ton of codes parked it till was able to slowly work on it. First changed all spark plugs helped a little then all 8 coil packs. New throttle body new EGR valve. Got a little better new fuel filter. Still ruff idle and cutting out on exceleration. Used smoke machine to check vacuum leaks didn't see any smoke. Checked vacuum line from brake booster that hooks to back of intake seems intact. Brake light stays on mostly sometimes flashes on and off. I'm at a loss help me figure this out. Plz

Check your duct work before the mass air flow sensor. Look for any hole or crack that could suck air. If it sucks air and begins to swirl inside of that duct work it will make it run rough. I’ve got a 99 F150 that had same issues i cleaned my mass air flow sensor, on underside of duct there was a rubber grommet that wires run through that had come loose, and a 1/4 inch gap where plastic met the fender. I secured and taped the grommet and taped up the gap and it instantly changed, runs like a top now.
